What is also impressive 4 are defensive players. EP has turned out a few good offensive players in the last few years but defensive types have been few. Local kids do a lot for a program and offer a connection to the community that out of state kids likely cannot. In most years there are 5 -8 kids that have the potential to play D1 football in the area and UTEP should be in the running for the lions share of these kids.
