Already has UNM playing for a spot in the MW championship game tonight. He has turned them around (despite being short handed) and has them playing well. He has also recruited two 5-star transfers in Jaquan Lyle and Carlton Bragg. I wouldn't be suprised if he lands Figueroa (Kelvin Jones's teammate as well). I suspect UNM will get back up and running real quick.

This is what we need! Somebody that can coach, recruit, motivate and makes no excuses.

Stars are nice but before Butler was Butler and Wichita State was Wichita State they did it with unheralded recruits and it took them more than two seasons. It takes time. Next UTEP coach will need two season to right this mess Floyd left. Billy spoiled UTEP immediately by his second year. Barbee took a more methodical approach. It usually doesn't happen that fast at a mid major.

It is impressive what he did this year. They were so bad they lost to us and by the end of the season they’re we’re pretty formidable.
