Poor coaching

Ol Billy basketball fixed us up good in 2 years and had a scrub team the first. Why can't this guy do it too? Others have immediate success after a coaching change.

One time at Montgomery Wards, we changed a department manager and the next damn day morale and sales went up. Stayed like that for awhile. Until she started banging some of the employees.

The morale of the story is, as long as Floyd isn't sleeping with his players, they should respect him and play better.

I don't always like Petes humore, but I agree with the fact that Floyd recruising though highly ranked has not brought the results that past coaches here have. I understand that he's had some bad fortunes, injuries, players de committing, leaving early for a lucrative career in the NBDL and gambling during the season! However 6 years and no NCAA is wearing very thin. I know he'll get another pass this year, because it's basically a new team, but if next year we don't have a strong team that leaves no doubt we're an NCAA team, he has to leave! Until then I'm still holding out a sliver of hope we'll make a run and get a bid, but today's performance at UAB will tell us if that's even a possibility.

I don't mean to be a d!k, and perhaps this might seem like a d!k thing to say, but something tells me your patience knows no bounds in regards to CTF. Am I right?

Ohhh trust me it does have an end.... I just see all the bad luck he has had and understand.... Trust me I am as frustrated as anyone !! I just like everyone wish we were much further along!! Just really take a minute and think if you were the coach and you had everything happen that he has had happen....

It seems every year we have had a bad break, this year with Wilms out and then mcswiggan losing a year... And hunter declaring early and then jones getting hurt.... Wilms would have definitely helped the defense around the rim and rebounding!

Floyd is finally in a spot right now where he can recruit two-3 players each year and I always thought when that happened things would take off but just like you if it doesn't start happening soon I will fall off the wagon.....

Honestly when have you ever seen a coach have sooo many set backs? That's just some bad damn luck! But that's just me! I am at the point now where I think he can get things going but if someone else is brought in it won't bother me either way .... I am right on the fence

I agree that he has suffered through some set backs, however, I believe he has to be held accountable for some of those setbacks due to his own decision making process. Can't separate the wave from the ocean. He will be here at least thru next year, so I made the choice early on to not fight it too much this year. Despite the lack of anger and frustration that mindset has brought me, it has also created a bit of apathy in me though.

He is smart. Hope he gains some game situation confidence that helped him win the preseason 3 point contest by a landslide.

Something happened yesterday afternoon in the loss to UAB... hope.... I saw enough to believe that they can win at UAB and by competing with 2 of the top 4 teams on the road this weak I have hope that if they can make the top 4 they will have a shot. They aren't far off, they definitely need to get the offensive second chance points fixed. I see them going 13-5/12-6 in conference and hopefully that'll be enough for a top 4 first ish

Yep. Nothing says hope quite like being down 20 with 15:00 left. Again. Granted, we might be the best playing 20 points down team in the country. Maybe if we spotted the other team 20 to start the game, we could make a deep run in March. I mean, we try our best to do so any way.

You'd think that maybe the 19th best coach in the country might see this and think that it might be better to loosen the offense up a little bit. But, we'll keep running our stand around and watch offense for the remainder of the season.

Agree. And we played with fluidity for the first 10-15 minutes. We are no doubt best when we are in transition. We do not run a very effective half court offense. I say let em run.

if if's were fifth's we'd all be drunk.....it's safe to say that after 6yrs we've see the best that Timmy has to offer i.e. the Peter principle has been reached.

I say we finish 10-8/11-7 in conference 18-13/19-12 overall before the tournament.

Guess we watched a different game! I thought they were more aggressive than normal. And remember we were without Winn and Moore in the second half. I don't make excuses for this team, but realistically I didn't expect wins this past week. A split would a been really nice and we had that chance at M.Tennessee. Is what it is, best case scenario we get top 4 and see what happen. The hope of a great team this year has passed!
