Rachael Phillips gone from KVIA

KVIA is still my main go-to for local news but lately they seem to have strayed far from where they were 15-25 years ago. That is probably due to the ever changing of the digital landscape and the news industry. I’ve noted some of my personal observations as follows.
  1. Is Paul Cicala some kind of hippie? I can’t stand his constant message of spreading positivity at the end of each newscast. Even more annoying his hand gestures such as pointing when referring to “right here in El Paso/Sun-city”.
  2. Still no replacement for Stephanie Valle (Huge loss for them). Last few days they’ve been using two dudes on the main anchor desk. WTF is up with that?
  3. Can barely hear the new weekend weather person speak.
  4. Some of these new young reporters struggle during live shots.
  5. Too many evening newscasts. 4-5:30, 6, and 10pm. Two should be enough.
  6. Bright spot is definitely Bea Martinez (not cause she’s hot lol). She is a damn good sports reporter.

The horror of spreading positivity! Is there a reason you don't like people being positive?

I've met Paul a few times and he's a really nice guy. What you see on camera is who he is off camera.

Have you noticed that all real local talent is leaving all local channels? Is it possible that they are being bought out to leave because the stations want to downsize? Kdbc is supposed to be killing their newscast completely. Stephanie is gone. Natacia out. Even Colin. I think they are all losing viewers and are lowering their salary expenses.
Dos pesos
