Sheridan rates Arizona the 14th worst P5 team

If you read his write-up, the match-ups do look decent for us. That would be a fun home win if we can pull it off.

The period goes inside the quotation mark.

It goes outside at the end of sentence ending with a quote. I was raised to put them inside. However, if the quote ends with no other remarks then it goes inside and you then put a period at the end (outside of the quote) of the sentence to note that it is the end of your sentence.

So as much as it pains me, technically 5000 was correct because his or her quote was part of the original statement and not at the end of the statement.

20 to 25 years ago the English grammar police amended, clarified or changed the rule. I am not to sure. Like I said, I was taught that it was to go inside the quotation marks.

If the punctuation is part of the quote, for example a question or exclamation, it goes inside the quotation marks, but never a period.

BTW, if that magical offensive line performs as they were billed the last three years and Dove performs well and Metz improves upon last year (not forcing a 15-25 yard pass to make a play when UTEP did pass) then UTEP can pull off the upset. Yes, if UTEP were to win it would be an upset.
