Spring football returns Monday in El Paso
Miners to open spring practice today as they prepare for the 2025 season
With all due respect, I don't believe Locklear is the answer at QB, and with the type of offense CW runs I am not too sure Cade fits the mold either but I think he would be ok, depending on his recovery from surgery, maybe the backup... I would argue that Pickles and Smith would battle for the #2 spot behind Nelson if Nelson can bring to the game what a lot people thought he was capable of doing after high school.![]()

More concerned that Walden will still call the plays....With all due respect, I don't believe Locklear is the answer at QB, and with the type of offense CW runs I am not too sure Cade fits the mold either but I think he would be ok, depending on his recovery from surgery, maybe the backup... I want to believe that last year was a learning process and he realized that he couldn’t spam screen passes and rush the clock only to punt. I’ll give him a little bit of a pass because he wasn’t afraid to switch QBs, RBs and to try different things. I can also understand that all of the shuffling killed continuity.More concerned that Walden will still call the plays....
Is this guy smoking weed or what? Reminds me of Bohannon and Omega Harris.
It's the Johnnys and the Joes. If we keep bringing in talent, size, speed, experience, it can only lead to good things. The young man seems like he's grounded and just looking for an opportunity to earn playing time. I know I'm reading a lot into a 2 minute interview but he seems sincere.I want to believe that last year was a learning process and he realized that he couldn’t spam screen passes and rush the clock only to punt. Hopefully Nelson is as good as advertised and he can lock down the position.
I'll prop bet it now. Walden calls 6 screenplays in the first 15 plays of offense to begin the season---game 1. And I'll throw in a pass behind the LOS.More concerned that Walden will still call the plays....
