Stay healthy and focused. I hope Wilms can go more than fifteen minutes a game as Floyd states. Artis brings a lot of excitement and reminds me of some great UTEP legends. There were a lot of early David vs Goliath major upsets late last week, which is now commonplace in very early OOC play, but I think UTEP wanted to say "uh no, not here, not tonight".
No he is saying "WHETHER" if he is playing for Stritch...he is an elite player, "AND SO IS MOORE". Meaning "too" which has the same mean as "as well" or adding an agreeing thought.
So he is saying they are both elite players, no matter against who.
There is no FOR. It doesn't even make sense saying FOR. You need some glasses. Nice try though.

"Is" means current. When you are saying somebody "is" something it doesn't matter what they did in the past or present. Example: "Tom just turned 40 and he IS fat". That doesn't mean that Tom has always been fat or will be fat in the future. Understand now?

Moore ISN'T an elite player against power conference schools because he has yet to play a power conference school.

Mambo is assuming that the reader is 1) familiar with the subject, Moore in this case, and 2) his numbers, and former juco team information indicate the he is an elite player.. Yes, it was inferior competition, however; the competition could not stop Moore nor did they impair, deny, slow down, confuse his play in any manner. Do you have some Aristotelian Universalistic model that shows the opposite of him not being an elite player? You are adding conjecture to his statement because you are disgusted at Floyd.
Hey, it's all good. I'm not totally on the Kugler bandwagon. His style is too similar to the Bailey days. UTEP has been there, done that. However, unlike Kugler; Floyd wins 20+ games a year which is not easy to do. We're in a mediocre conference spread out all over. CUSA football is mediocre and Kugler struggles. He got into a bowl but CUSA has done a good job getting bowl tie in's. D1 Basketball is a whole different animal that is much more competitive to get to the Big Dance due to it's exclusivity. What other sports playoff formats allow sub par teams a second chance to make their playoffs as compared to the Big Dance? No one does.

Second, you want UTEP to make the NCAA year after year and win it. Year after year, eh... that's tough, really tough. Haskins spoiled us. That is why d1 coaches who consistently win 20 plus a year are given more accolades, and actually bonus money if they meet a 20+ win season, it's more realistic and common bar set by most colleges.
The kicker, most don't achieve it! That's my point. Has he blown some critical games? Heck yesI The problem is CUSA has flipped from what started as a primarily basketball conference, to a football first conference. And that's were Coach Floyd is screwed. Second, fans point at the OOC schedule for Floyd and UTEP, right? Another fact, no powerhouse really wants to play UTEP, much less a one for one deal like WSU and Oregon have done in the recent past. Do you see Florida State, TCU or Baylor calling La Tech or Marshall to play them in football to fill their gaps in scheduling? No, they call UTEP, UNT or Rice and offer $900,000. Reality and what UTEP fans want don't have to be mutually exclusive, but it needs pointed in the right direction. And that is at Stull and especially the new CUSA commish.

Lee Moore ISN'T an elite player against power conference schools. I hope he WILL BE, but only time will tell.
The problem is Floyd has yet to win a watered down CUSA. Gillespie, Sadler, and Barbee did it in a shorter amount of time playing against higher caliber teams.
I agree with MinerMambo that Lee and Artis are studs and Caldwell is most improved returnee. It will only get better this Sunday when
T Winn and E Morris start playing again.
I haven't seen McSwiggan play yet but the coaches are really high on him too. Good news is that kid from UCF was cleared to play (Fall Bamba) so hopefully Josh gets good news soon.
And lets not foget Omega Harris returns in mid December.
B Jones and P Thomas are just freshman and maybe not this year but they both show alot of promise in the future years to come and will be good role players this year.
