Utep vs Eastern New Mexico

I'm very nervous about next Tuesday. Need a complete effort to pull out a win. Williams is our only reliable "go to" guy. Boum, Edwards, Vila and somebody else must step up. New Mexico looks to be a pretty solid group top to bottom.

I'm not nervous. I'm excited and confident. That's how I've always tried to approach games and that's what I teach my kids. This team is still learning and makes a lot of mistakes, yet they continue to win and have shown a lot of fight. I'm not naive to other teams and how things can change, I just feel good about this team. They may lose a few games here and there, but I am sure that will only help them get better. Go miners!

Fili, you realize that you just agreed with something that last night you denied. Natty alluded to the Miners playing down to competition. Now you agree?

Who FKN Cares!!!!! Everyone Calm Down. Geez it happens sometimes a Better team plays down to competition. Why some of you sound like your panicking after a meaningless game to E. New Mexico is beyond me.

I can understand where miner1liner is coming from, however I’m with you on this. I feel pretty confident that our D will shut their high percentage shooting team down with some lockdown, in your face defense.

I am not concerned and nervous about the " season", but I am about the NM game. As I said; we must get some production from more than Williams and "if we do", I think we can handle them. Simple as that. I pointed out in a previous post that just last night multiple other highly ranked teams; possibly playing down to their competition. I know we can't whip The Lobos if we perform like we did against Eastern but I feel that if we play another game to the level of The Aggie game; we'll be OK.

I agree. It would also be nice if Williams is able to stay out of foul trouble. I also think UNM will be more of a challenge than NMSU on the interior. Really, NMSU only has the big Spaniard kid inside, and he wasn't at full strength. UNM has good balance and scorers at multiple positions. Should be a good one.
