One of a few of Floyd's OOC power team wins. Sadly, UTEP fans would discover Floyd never got the team ready come late February or early March when it mattered which resulted his blaming conference affiliation. But, Michigan was not that good back then. I remember post game articles out of Michigan wondering if the Wolverines had any identity and need to seriously rebuild after the loss to UTEP.

After 2010, both programs took different directions. (BTW, UTEP has a 2 game winning streak against Michigan. 2006 and 2010).

Picture of Randy dunking on Michigan that day.

2010 - Michigan
2010 - Texas Tech
2011 - Clemson
2011 - Auburn
2012 - Oregon
2012 - Nebraska
2013 - Tennessee
2013 - Washington State
2014 - Washington State
2014 - Xavier (a biggie!)

It wasn't all that rare through 2014, but then Floyd's teams fell off a cliff after that. Floyd's most impressive victory over a power team (Xavier) was also his last. It's almost like instead of developing talent amongst the lesser players Floyd ran them off, so that after the star player (Vince Hunter) left the team, cupboard was bare.

2010 Tech win was eh. They were 5-11 and 13-19 overall under Pat Knight. I think their only quality win was against Washington the year before and UTEP that same year (they beat Washington) since UTEP was coming off of their NCAA appearance.

But that Xavier game was a nice win.

Doesn't matter what their record was, it was a win against a major conference team. We take what we can get.....

Remember this one. Randy was sensational coming off the bench. Bohannon had a good game. Things were looking up for the program.

Crazy starting line-up. Started three 6’10” or taller guys in Britten, Portalatin and Bo.

Culpepper, Stone and Polk all came off the bench.
