Judging by the Ticketmaster map, we are going to have a similar crowd to Thursday. Hopefully we get a good walk up crowd but it's not encouraging.

It makes a huge difference…. If you don’t follow Utep games or the team closely the average fan won’t know or be aware of what’s going on

I know there are a lot of dumb people in El Paso, but there’s this thing called the internet and you can find out when ANY team is playing next. That’s a really poor excuse to not know when the next game is or being unable to look it up in 10 seconds.
You know that is not a fair equivalent. UTEP aggressively marketed two first home games in football under Dimel and got a good turnout. Marketing helps, and this was at the backend of Dimels tenure.
Does anyone care about Sam Houston State? I don’t. That’s why I stayed home to watch Bengals vs Steelers, Texas vs Texas A&M, and a couple of hockey games on TV.
They were regular season champs with the coach of the year. Not a super big name but that should have brought some interest to this game. They and La Tech were the teams to beat last year.
