UTEP vs SHSU

They were regular season champs with the coach of the year. Not a super big name but that should have brought some interest to this game. They and La Tech were the teams to beat last year.
That’s all que cute and all, but Sam Houston State isn’t exactly a household name is it, even in the state of Texas, or less El Paso. 🤡

I figure but I would think that last years success would drive more interest. They still are a good team just not as good.

Sakho previous block was a goal tend as well. Let's be consistent

Good run by UTEP thanks to Big Ham.

Bad: UTEP can not stop Boykin coming off the bench. Offensive boards as there were easy put backs. What else is new? Hi low game of Sam allowed Sakho to take it down for 2-3 slam dunks. Sam D messing up their flow early in game. Bynum only one 3.

Good: Good defense once again by UTEP. Big Ham D and boards for put backs were igniters for offense. Good back court D in final minutes were the answer to Boykin threat. Wilkerson only with 6. Can't let him explode in 2nd half.

Disrupt hi low with Sakho and D en masse when he touches the ball but UTEP must help. Got burned a few times not helping out. Look for Boykin to take over and fouls build to stop him. Golding loves to sub alot but Big Ham doing lunch pail work. Keep him in longer.

I'll say this, (ESPN+) the duo of Bobby and Colin give the appearance of professionalism compared to what they've had in the past. Miners are grittier than they've been in the past also.
Andy* Colin is the UTEP director of creative douchebagerry now.

But I agree, really good stuff from Andy and Bobby, Braswell would be good on radio too IMO.

And this is the same thing that happened during the nmsu game. Mudge may have a weak jaw but he can make halftime adjustments.
