2 years ago you were talking about giving Terry a contract extension before he coached a single game at UTEP, and now you wanted Pitino???
I still think they should give Terry an a extension. But if I had a choice between Pitino and Terry I'd pick Pitino all day.
UTEP hired Mike Price and Tim Floyd. Not exactly pillars of morality.
Terry has done nothing to earn an extension.
Pitino has a history of paying recruits going back to his first job. He is an admitted adulterer, and under his watch his assistants payed strippers to f*** recruits. Several Louisville players corroborated the stories of sex parties. He is an egomaniac who, when under total control of the Celtics, lacked any conviction and was so wishy washy he made something like 50+ trades. He is morally corrupt and a slimy, greasy huckster. You would want this man to be a part of our history? Would you trust this man with your son?

Yeah, college guys hate getting some poontang. Damn Pitino forcing his recruits to bang strippers. Those players only made a few Elite 8s, Final Fours, and won a national title.
Much better to come to UTEP and lose in the first round of the NIT/CBI or not play at all in the post season. Playing in the post season is super annoying and takes away from their studies. Bryson and Souley need to concentrate on their multidisciplinary studies degrees and not worry about making the post season.
No football and the alumni donors can focus on basketball as their main sport.

I imagine Drew is probably a pretty good guy, however everybody was saying the same thing about Briles...until they weren’t.

Nobody cares about what happened in the past. That’s why Penn State’s football punishment was ended early. Sucks to punish the current players who had nothing to do with it.
UTEP brought in a crooked coach and he couldn’t even win without cheating or didn’t try hard enough to cheat. If the Miners had made the 2015 NCAA under Floyd, you wouldn’t be saying, “We haven’t made the tournament since 2010 because the NCAA took it away”. No fan does that. I wouldn’t even be doing that. As I have gone on record that cheating is worth it.
It was nice while it happened for those fans. We should have hired Rick back then. Hiring him now is like marrying that hot high school girl that turned into a stripper and gave private dances in the cabanas for an extra $40. Yea she’s still kind of hot but she might have an std. They were 12-16 this year and likely wouldn’t have won the MAAC tournament this year. If Pitino and his “low moral compass” is worse than Terry, it should take him awhile to do it. Terry will be on his 3rd year next year. Terry has the upper hand.
It could take him a while. I don’t know. I don’t care. He’s not our coach and I’m glad we didn’t hire him. If he’s successful quick then all the more power to Iona and their fans.

Biles and Pitino stick out because of the crimes they knew (and coordinated) under their leadership. This country allows for second chances and Briles and Pitino got it, not just under a big money banner.
BG's crime was not succeeding at Kentucky and worse his alcoholism that pretty much almost cost him his life. He alone I hope gets a 2nd chance at a mid or major program but he needs arm distance from the big money boosters (they will facilitate his demons even with the best and honorable intentions).
UTEP failed Billy. We knew of his drinking well before he got popped. Unlike Rab's who tried to hide his affair, Billy was across the street in public after games.

The Patinos can live in Manhattan or Greenwich while he coaches there. A little different than living in Kern Place.
I'll take Kern, even in normal circumstances.
