What's wrong with the Vegas Tourney, Floyd?

It's on a neutral court, and the tournament organizers state that their objective is to provide a bowl game experience for the basketball kids. Since it's on a neutral court, it doesn't have the pay-to-host stigma of the CBI. My 20-win Wildcats, who have never even entertained a CBI bid, have made overtures that they'll play in the Vegas Tourney. That's a 20-win Big Ten team; when did the CBI ever have that? The field will be stronger and I think when all is settled this tourney will be considered a step up from the CBI.

I'm disappointed you won't even consider it, and I think the kids are missing out on a cool experience.

As of 2016 UTEP has played more games in the CBI tourney (8) with a record of 4-4 than any other NCAA team. We even made the finals back in 08 where we lost the best of 3 games with Oregon State. Why turn it or any other tourney down?

Are you being serious? We all know that any Power five team with 20 wins is most likely in the NCAA or at least the NIT. The Pac 12 is not the 22nd rated league it's constantly in the top six.

20 wins don't mean as much as they used to when you're constantly beating 200+rpi teams.

Yes. I'm predicting that 20-win Northwestern will be left out of the NIT and will play in the Vegas 16 Tournament.

Even more reason why UTEP should accept. If a 20 win team from the Big 10 accepts an invitation then there's no reason why we shouldn't.

Why does everyone assume Vegas wants the Miners.... A team with an Rpi of 215 and who finished tied for 6th in one of the lowest rated conferences. I'm pretty sure Vegas can invite 100 higher rated teams for their 16 spots.
