I think I’m ok with that transfer. It’s burgess and jolly I wanna keep. Hankins went from a good bruising back to a slow fullback type player
I never have a problem with grad transfers. He stayed and earned his degree, and now he can make the best of his final year as a grad and have fun. I always considered it a nice bonus to encourage the players to earn their degrees.
I read this as Haskins at first and I was way more disappointed. I have heard of someone rolling in their grave but...

Same. But our loss. My most recent, and one of my favorite memories with him was that last game against Liberty in the 4th quarter. The defender had the angle on him and should have taken him down between the 2 and 3 yard line. He hit Hankins and literally looked like he hit a brick wall and bounced off. Hankins didn’t even flinch.
Some probably see all the offers Mayers is getting and want in on the action. Hankins, graduated. I wish him the best of luck! He did UTEP proud. Players are probably in panic mode, or got wind of who the coach will be and said, oh hell no Dimel 2.0 lol
I’m not goi my to freak out yet. The only way they might have stayed is if Dimel was retained and we didn’t want that. Let’s see who UTEP brings in, maybe they can bring in some transfers of their own and who knows who they can convince to stay.
Also, just because one enters the transfer portal does not mean one must transfer. Not a bad idea to put some feelers out. Maybe the new HC will be able to retain some of these guys that are entertaining the idea of leaving.
Kelly Akharaiyi. Looks like he has interest from Miss St, FAU, Sam Houston St, UNT, WKU, ECU, and USF as of right now.
Oh well. Let em all go. If we get a coach worth a damn he will get better players.

I put a zay tweet. No surprise and fans wished him best but didn’t care for his yo-yo relationship with UTEP.
Record breaker. He quit on utep 3 times. Impressive. Good riddance.

Agreed, but I don't know why any team would want him, seeing how he behaved in the last year.
It's a pay for play system. I'm betting he gets paid for the third time. Honestly, that was likely his gameplan from the get go.
Someone at the FBS level will give Smith a chance. He was a 1,000 yard receiver and won’t care about his actions here. It’s all about winning.
I would think these NIL guys are smart enough to make it a payment based system. If you ain't playing, we ain't paying.
Yeah maybe at the G5 level. He isn't a P4-5 player. He should have gone to WKU the first time. He just doesn't have the lateral quickness nor the consistent hands and he's way too small.
Utah's approach to lease vehicles to guys who played on the FB team was a way to adapt. If the guys don't play, then say goodbye to the vehicle. However, other NIL agreements just provide payment. Guys like Smith, and many others, are taking advantage. P5 schools have money to burn.

Smith hitting the portal is Dimel's best football tradition. It's a tradition that I'm glad to see it's end. Good riddance, maybe.
