Kanefane as they break down UTEP basketball all year long with their comparison and contrast analysis against would've, could've, should've stats and basketball events around the country.

Here’s the thing that you don’t understand, the win vs Cal meant absolutely nothing. #1 because UTEP lost their next 5 games to D1 opponents and then finished 7-9 in CUSA. #2 Cal finished 13-19.

What WCC team did UTEP beat last year? Unless it’s Gonzaga or St Mary’s, nobody cares.

Making the CUSA championship and losing isn’t an accomplishment if your record is 18-16. Result is the same, no tournament, too many losses. It doesn’t negate the poor performances that happened during the season.

With 3 games left, Pickles starts two more games and Shay Smith should start 1 (Tennessee). I wanna see Smith play the entirety of the Tennessee game. No reason to play Locklear anymore this year.

We don't know if Smith can or cannot... Walden stinks of loyalty to "OKG" of course we don't see practice. Either way, Shay Smith has 1 game left to play in, hopefully he gets his shot next week at home. Knowing Walden, he won't even consider it. Walden is a dud, stubborn, and pretty clueless on game management. They'd be 0-9 if not for the defense. KSU is going to whoop UTEP, sadly.

Good job, hiring a coach that may be young, but actually has been coaching for a while now... That still has "a lot" of learning to do! Terrible. Walden better give up play calling for next year... I remember early on he said " Why would I give up play calling? When it's worked, don't fix what's not broken"

Dak's injury came about a month too late. Would have maybe given them a chance to see if they could anything out of/for Lance prior to the trade deadline.

Still should. If he's out any appreciable amount of time, they need to start Lance over Rush. Rush is a good backup that you can trust to keep you on track if you're a winning team. Not so much this year. They need to play Lance and see if they can do something with him.

I think Walden needs to win next season. In CUSA you can afford to give a coach 4or 5 years, or sometime schools don't have a choice. They can't afford to buy out a coach. Utep will now be making more money and the pressure will be higher to win right away. I think a coach needs to win by year 2, Walden needs 6 wins next year . What concerns me is the offense showing no improvement. Blame the line has been the company line. But the play-calling by the guru, along with clock management, and having no fight to end half’s has been mind boggling.

We started a True Freshman at QB, and a True Freshman Coach, our record makes sense.
