Arkansas game Observation 1st half

Utep's Secomdary hasn't been able to cover ANY Arkansas receiver in the first half. They are wide open and imposing their will when they want to. Disappointed with some of the tackling too. UTEPs defense wants to cause confusion but we look confused on D too much. On the plus side Aaron Jones has been a beast. Can't wait to see more of him this year. Golden needs the ball I front of the line of scrimmage please.. Leftwich has thrown a couple good passes and is accurate today but it's clear we aren't able to stretch the field much. Arkansas is just pinning its ears back and attacking the run. At this point I am hoping everyone stays healthy so we can be at full strength. By the way, anyone else listening to Teicher? Quality is unbearable so have to listen to TV announcers.

Agreed. Our defense is clearly outmatched. I wish they wouldn't leave #32 alone, one on one with their receiver. At least give us a chance. The O line is also getting dominated by their D line.

On the positive side, penalties and play calling have been a lot better. I guess all I can hope for now is a more competitive second half and no major injuries.

Considering the competition, UTEP is looking good. Leftwich isn't the dumpster fire I was expecting. The wildcat is looking good, the passing is decent by our standards. Very worried about our secondary going forward, hopefully its a byproduct of the level of competition which we won't see again.

Our secondary is terrible. We have no answer for their receivers. Jones is the man and he's playing his heart out. I hope our d line is able to put some pressure on their QB. Leftwitch is too short to play at this level. I'm afraid defenses will be keying on blocking Letwitch's passes.

Our secondary is going to be the Achilles heal of this year's team. Simply no experience back there. It will be trial by fire the whole year.

I am not going to base the whole season on this one game against a team that could be a Top 10 team by the end of the year. If this is happening against CUSA teams, then there will be problems.

The way I see it is the season starts next week. UTEP is not at the level of a SEC opponent. Next week will be a good indicator of what Miners will look like with competition that is more at their level. The wildcat being run by offense will give teams fits especially CUSA play begins

special teams also needs work... but it could be worse... Arkansas is just way too tough. Take away the mistakes and it may not have looked so bad

Arkansas is going to give a lot of teams a difficult time this year. They are big, fast and loaded. They are very good.

I think your team is playing very hard and has a lot of spunk. I really think you will be very good within your conference but I do agree your secondary has to improve.

Your team is very good on both sides of the ball. I thought Arkansas was supposed to be more of a running team, but really showed me something in the passing game. Good luck to you guys in the tough SEC.
