What the hell is going on??? Unless I am missing something, the last posts on this board with PG coming in for visits, if that is the best we can do as to talent levels, I would rather play without. I hope that we all are not in the know, but this is just insane. None of these guys look like they can play a lick of D1 ball. We are looking at guards that have virtually no offers from any other D1 program. That should tell you something.

I have been a ardent Tim Floyd supporter, but if this is the best we can do, someone has some serious explaining to do.

In my opinion, give Stallworth a chance unless there was more than just disruptive behavior for his dismissal. Give him a second chance with ZERO tolerance.

Just my thoughts and I hope we are only seeing a portion of what is going on. I still have confidence, but it is getting severely tested. Hell, never thought I would say this, but G Ray Johnson recruiting is looking good at this point. Ouch!

Coach Kugler is recruiting these type of players and people are giving him a pass. Tim Floyd already has the #1 recruiting class in C-USA.

I agree with PickAx. I don't know what we are doing. It was Floyd who once said he will only recruit all-conference caliber players.

@PURPLEFIRE, I absolutely did not like the Cerdrick Lang signing at the time for the same reasons. He came out of nowhere and became a great blue collar guy despite not putting up big numbers. One of my favorite players. However, Floyd singed like 9 in the Lang class and only Lang and Cooper played 4 years. So out of a class of 9, none were all-conference. And, Lang was a very accomplished high school player despite the lack of offers. He was not a 4pt per game player.

There is more the game than just points. Not everyone on the team is
going to put 15 to 20 points. Sometimes your best player might not be
your best scorer. Lets be patient, yes a little more.
I understand the frustration with everyone, unfortunately it is what it is.

Go Miners...

With Morris, Moore, Harris, Touchet, Flaggert, Caldwell, I can see where some of those gaurds we are recruiting would choose a smaller school where they have better chance to compete for playing time. I think it is best to keep Stallworth, or save the scholly for next recruiting season.

I think that kid from London could play some point. I think he could be Julyan Stone type player but with a better offense. In his highlight video you could see him playing the point.

Im not going to freak out before i see the guys on the court. If these guys qualify come in with a good attitude and go to class they will be better than any of Floyd's previous classes. Floyds classes have always been ranked high but if you went back and reranked his classes none would rank in the top 150. If these guys just all show up they will be way ahead of the previous classes.

I dont care about the rankings, other than hamilton, tymond howard was the highest rated recruit and that didnt work out. Vince hunter had three offers UTEP, long beach state and Depaul. There is a misconception that Floyd has beat big schools for recruits. Most of the time Floyd has recruited high star guys who had no interest from major programs because they werent going to qualify of had major character questions. That approach blew up in Floyds face. I like this approach much better get some hungry kids with character and build from that.

Wasn't Washburn in the same class as Lang and Cooper? He played all four years and was all-conference defensive team, DPOY, and 2nd team all-conference as a junior.

Washburn was actually part of Floyds first class with Bohannon. I don't remember the whole story but if I remember right, he may have committed elsewhere and backed out and came to UTEP. He sat out a year. Washburn and Bohannon played in a high school all-star game together.

I think Washburn was a non-qualifier and decided to attend classes here and get eligible in lieu of going the JC or prep school route. If you recall, both he and his brother got into a little controversy over questionable transfers while in High School.
