Wells is a helluva coach. Dimel, put down that cup of coffee and make that call to hire when Tech goes full pendejo.
I can't stand Tech, but Briles can't get a job at a legit football institution......ah, whom am I kidding?! It's Tech, they'll do it.

Wells was never a good fit in Lubbock. Not suprised they want Briles. It's always been his natural landing spot. The press will be bad. This will be dissected, discussed and lambasted by everyone. Despite all that Briles makes Tech football relevant for the first time in a decade. Hes still a god among Texas high school football coaches.

As far as I know the case still has not been adjudicated. That's why it is still allegedly.
I think alot more recruiting went on than drugs.
I remember for a decade there was no better rivalry in Texas high school football the Stephenville against Brownwood. It seemed like every school in a fifty mile radius tried to schedule a bye week the week of that game so they could all be at the game. Both towns had two factories that provided high paying jobs: Kohler and 3M in Brownwood and FMC and St-Gobain in Stephenville. Every year parents of star players from little schools throughout the state would magically get good jobs at one of those plants. The recruiting was the biggest open secret in Texas. The rivalry was as good as it got. Brownwood often got Stephenville in the regular season but the Jackets never lost to the Lions in the playoffs. Thats when Briles always shined in the playoffs.
