I say at least 1 win. Im sure when its 3rd and 8, Price will actually make sure we throw the ball at least 8 yards to try and get the first down. Unlike Kuglers offense throwing the ball 3 yards when we needed 8 for a 1st down. This basic, easy concept will get us at least 1 win.
Impossible situation to walk into. The players are still loyal Kugler and will be worried about and looking into options for their futures. They are upset the interim coach was not promoted from within. This is Stull's way he thinks he will sell more tickets. I feel sorry for mike price this a terrible and completely mishandled situation.
1 is a major victory for this team. I know he’s not going to go 5 wide out of the gate, but I’m sure he will emphasize the pass which should make some players happy. And I would imagine he would want the WRs to catch and not block. Maybe by the end of the season they can sneak in a win.

The players have options and should exercise them wisely. You do not let the players call the shots. They have say in the matter, but not the final say. That is a recipe for not so good outcomes and that is exactly what happened during the Bailey/Nord transition. Kug made the mess. I hope they realize the difference between what Kug has said about Price and reality are two different things. I am with Stull and Natalicio on this temporary stop gap.
I know we bashed Price for being too much of a player’s coach. And while I do agree with everything Kugler has done in terms of APR and personal accountability I think Price will come in here and at least make sure the guys have fun. At this point that’s the best we can hope for. Just go out there and have a f*ck it attitude. He understands the situation, and he has nothing to lose.
Let's be real here, when the expectation with the fans, community, and media is that the team is likely going 0-12, a single victory is a success at this point. Heck, just showing a little more life than we've currently seen will be an improvement.
Say what you will about Mike Price, but he was instrumental in brining about pride and tradition to the UTEP football program. From storming out of the mine with the picaxe, to singing the alma mater at the end of games. He also knew how to engage with the media, and my guess is these last few weeks are going to be "fun" again for UTEP football. He's under no pressure to succeed, the expectations are rock bottom, and I think he's just going to be blunt with the players that it's a tough situation, but they should just go out there and have some fun.

The alternative is to promote a coordinator from within that is also new to that position (and struggling), and when the team flounders around terribly, finishing 0-7, that record is stuck with you forever.
At least with Mike Price, if they finish 0-12, that record isn't attached to some poor coordinator, and you have a guy that clearly loves the school and wants to help out. It also will probably sell more tickets. Promoting one of the coordinators that are manufacturing the worst offense and defense in the country won't do anything to generate a buzz. It's just more of the same. Folks here don't like Mike Price is seems, but the community at large sure seems to.
Ugh....I can't believe the posters on this board. How can ANYONE realistically think we can win 2 games or more?

CMP is 177-183 as a HC in his career.
177-183....7 games left....he wins out and goes over .500 in his record, gets UTEP to a bowl where we still lose, of course, so he breaks even and ends career at 184-184. Wins CUSA COY.

Okay, i’ll play. But before anybody gets pissed, this is not serious talk:
So we win out per your scenario, this would likely mean that we would play for the CUSA Championship, therefore Price gets the extra game to either put him over/under .500
I think if we are dreaming, then a more realistic scenario is that the Miners play great this month for Price, the town goes crazy and gets excited again.........but then November comes and we all know how Mike Price teams do in November. The Miners fall flat on their face at the end of the season and the complete 360 degree season is complete, ending back where it started.

I'd like to know how much CMP is getting paid for mop up duty. I'd like to see how that equates with the love he has for UTEP & El Paso. My vote is for zero wins - this will be one of the worst Miner foitball seasons in either century.
4 wins. Yes these are Kugler players... I think they will quickly see the qualities in Price. They will play it close against wku. I say 4 wins and that builds towards the Future.

Reason why, the players are gonna get the pressure out their chest
and play with a new spirit. Some may like it some may not but the
biggest part of the last 7 games is that we won't be predictable the way
we were with Coach Kug. We will throw the ball more opening up the lanes
for the running game.

Y'all are putting too much importance on Price. He is a figure head nothing more. Natkin will run the offense, Mason will run the defense. Price's impact on the actual game will be very minimal.
