While I didn’t expect Cincinnati to win, I wasn’t too impressed with Alabama either. Let’s see how Michigan vs. Georgia turns out. The winner of that game may be the favorite for the National Championship game.

And let the debate begin. Did Cincinnati deserve to be in the Playoffs? Should it had been Notre Dame, Ohio State, or Baylor? Does this hurt the Group of 5 from competing in the Playoffs again?

At 13-0, Cincy got their chance, then sucked. It was a boring game.

The truth is nobody can compete with the SEC. SEC is above every other conference. They have the best players and the most money. All the teams should be thankful SEC let's them play against them and get the big paychecks.

No way in hell was Georgia the #4 seed. The 2 best teams this year in college football will be playing each other for the championship. The playoff committee got it right.

As good as the 2 teams left standing are, I honestly could not care less about 2 teams from the same conference in neighboring states. I'll check on the results when it's over but won't spend 3 to 4 hours watching.

Not entirely true. The Conference was a horrible 1-5 going into those 2 bowl games. Those 2 teams are head and shoulders above the rest. Secondly, the conference does not play anyone out of conference of significance (besides Alabama and Georgia), during the season, and therefore it shows in their horrible bowl record.

It is like the Big 10 in college basketball. They live off their names, get 10 teams in, and get destroyed in the NCAA tournament.

Now in all fairness, that is this year for the SEC. Overall, in past years I agree with you. And most likely going forward with the addition of OU and Texas.

If there were any remaining debate that Notre Dame deserved to be in the College Football Playoffs, their pathetic meltdown in the Fiesta Bowl should convince you otherwise. After leading 28-7, they gave up 30 unanswered points to Oklahoma State. The Cowboys eventually won 37-35.

Furthermore, look at their history of bowl game results during the BCS/CFP/NY6 era. The Irish can’t win the big ones. Other than their past history, Notre Dame is no longer an elite college football program.

Boone Pickens and Haskins were having tacos and beer somewhere in the celestial heavens and I’m sure Pickens leaned over and stated to Coach Haskins “They really shut them up, didn’t they?!”.

There were tears in bourbon in many swanky Chicago bars over that loss, I’m sure.

I am so sick and tired of the SEC, don't know how I will handle the Longhorns being part joining the evil empire.

Should be a good game. I think Georgia will come prepared and not be embarrassed like in the SEC championship. Alabama is going to have to throw the ball to win, and Georgia Bennett will need to play like he did against Michigan to win.

On paper, Georgia should win this game handily. But as we all know, the game isn't played on paper. I predict Saban and Bama will win another ring.

Speaking of which, there's still time for players to QUIT, eh I mean OPT OUT, of playing this meaningless game, so that they don't risk their future livelihoods. Can't be too soft you know.

Alabama is going to throw the ball all over Georgia. Their secondary is absolutely abysmal. Michigan didn't have the passing game to take advantage of it, but they had wide receivers running open all game. Alabama has probably the best quarterback in the country. Might be even better than Trevor Lawrence.

I think their top receiver is out (Metchie), but you are probably right. They have another 5 on the bench ready to take his spot.

Georgia’s secondary abysmal??? Um what

Georgia's secondary is the weak spot of what is the best defense in the country.

Georgia should win this game. It's tough to beat a team twice in the same season. Alabama shouldn't beat Georgia twice. However, Saban is the Goat and and he's definitely in Smart's head. Alabama is very thin a running back and down their best receiver. I think Kirby may get cute and give Bennett a quick hook. JT Daniels isn't mobile and would be a sitting duck for the Bama defense. He's also a gun slinger who likes to throw deep balls into double coverage. On paper this should be Georgia by three touchdowns. However, until he proves it I don't like Smart in big games especially with Saban on the other sideline. It's now or never for the Dawgs. Bama will be better next year. This was supposed to be a "rebuilding" 9-3 Outback Bowl year for Bama. Bryce Young has them a year ahead of schedule.
