FIFA World Cup - Qatar 2022

The news about Gio Reyna at the World Cup explains alot.

The Coaches wanted to send him home.

the US "had a player that was clearly not meeting expectations on and off the field. One of 26 players, so it stood out. As a staff, we sat together for hours deliberating what we were going to do with this player. We were ready to book a plane ticket home, that's how extreme it was."

Apparently the players voted to keep him. The vote was 13 to 12. Time to change his attitude or go. This must have been really difficult for the staff (especially Berhalter being so close to his Dad and Gio) and the team.

Yeah, the narrative that GR wasn’t fit…didn’t fit. This makes more sense.

Reyna is super talented but he does tend walk around the pitch like his shit doesn’t stink, tossing his hands up when he doesn’t get the ball when/where he wants it, scowl on his face when things aren’t going right. Says a lot that 12 players wanted to send him home during the team’s biggest moment(s).

The last 20 minutes have been great!! France looked so out of sorts for the 1st 70 minutes. Gonna be an interesting 2 X 15.
