Is anyone in the local media gonna call for Senter's head? Bloomquist? Kap? This crap show is now almost ten years old. No, you're not. Kap will be saying we are overreacting and Bloom will fail in getting his report checked for effectiveness.

Walden has spiked all the momentum he built up during the off season. I don't see how the city's enthusiasm for the school will recover this year. We'll be lucky to break 25k for the next home game by the time we can come back in October and then can expect 18k for the rest of the way after that.

This has been almost a decade in the making. Price spoiled us and fans were willing to take a couple of nasty losses and they were still willing to turn up. Given what we’ve suffered through under the last two coaches I don’t blame Miner fans for having little to no patience. And the administration can’t be mad because for the last couple of years El Paso has sent a nice crowd to the Sun Bowl only to get smacked up.

It’s embarrassing yes, it’s despicable also true, the penalties were ugly and Buzz isn’t an FBS kicker… All true. With that said those giving up on Walden after 2 games are crazy! Most fans I know won’t be back this year after last night in the Sun Bowl, but Walden can’t change 110+ years overnight. Let’s see how this team responds and if some how we squeeze out 3 or 4 wins that’s what was expected. The difference now is one of those wins has to come against a team we didn’t expect to win against. UNM up the road in Albuquerque is going through similar growth pains. I don’t justify last night, cause it shouldn’t have happened, but it’s too early in Walden’s tenure to give up especially with a quality recruiting class who will be ready to go next year! Sorry just spitting facts, it sucks, but too early to call out a verdict!

Even Krappy Kugler didn’t lose to FCS teams. Dana Dismel, Gary Nord, and David Lee did though. Great company to have!

The head coach wanted threw shade, no matter if considered true or not. FCS team #2 who has talked crud about UTEP and left with cash and a win. Disgusting.

Those penalties were beyond stupid.

That second half was worse than a B or C rated actor.

Did you about Senator Ted Cruz with UTEP 'S biggest boosters last night? He wants season tix. "UTEP is the only team in Texas who can't blame their losses on me!".

Both are UTEP shills. Sadly, no one in this town has the balls to call out the shit show that is UTEP athletics. I miss the old days of Joe Muench. He irritated the hell out of Miner faithful, but he wasn’t shy about being brutally honest too.

Senter and UTEP administration have in no way earned a wait and see approach for Walden. It's unfair for Walden, but it's the job he accepted and is a result of Senter giving Dimel (and Golding) so much time to turn things around only to see him spectacularly fail. Senter and UTEP do not get a hard reset from the fans on our patience. If this team fails to win less than 4 games in this sad sack conference, Senter needs to go before we pick our next basketball coach.

Eh, too many people were dick riding Marion bc he was black.

Tony White would have been a better option but too expensive for Senter.

Some people in here are calling for patience. I think it's hard to give patience when Walden chased off 40 and brought in 40. Dimel did have some talent here and the cupboards weren't bare. I wonder if Walden replaced last year's talent with lesser talent from FCS. I'm not saying it's true but I do wonder.

If I remember correctly, correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t his entire coaching staff from Austin Pea? I think the only one who wasn’t is the OC. Maybe it wasn’t a good decision to turn UTEP into a FCS school from top to bottom. FBS isn’t for everyone.

The transfer portal can turn a quality recruiting class into a disaster in a heartbeat. It remains to be seen if the players from the recruiting class stick around if we have a disaster of a season and they aren’t buying into the Walden Ra Ra anymore. We just lost to a middle tier FCS school and we are trending towards a 1-2 win season. Some of these players might question if UTEP is ready to compete anytime soon and want to transfer to a winner or a program on the verge of being good.

I drank too much of the Kool-Aid, it was pretty obvious during the Nebraska game, that this is more of an FCS team than FBS. I can't believe they got pushed around like that, even during his presser- Scotty already looks defeated. Senter needs to f'n go. NMSU lost just as many players, and here they are COMPETING with Liberty. Why does UTEP struggle so damn much! Kappy said it best, UTEP will now lose hundreds of thousands of dollars because of this game! Bone-head Senter good job! Scotty and his staff all their bullcrap talk need to stop jumping and learn to coach their team! Penalties, ehhh

Yeah, they've been terrible, but give Walden a chance to fix the problems, and revaluate after the season is over and then again after the following year, not two games into his first season. Steve Sarkisian inherited a 7-3 Texas team and proceeded to go 5-7 his first year there, but that hire seems to have worked out, proving it takes time to implement your system with your guys. Walden has been a winner in his young career, and I believe he will make this program respectable again. 20+ guys didn't follow him from a winning AP to a losing school because they thought he sucked as a coach.

A winning record, a bowl game, maybe a bowl win at some point. What most reasonable fans can realistically expect from school in a low-level conference with little NIL money. Wouldn't you be thrilled with that, or do you expect us to be contending for an FBS playoff spot?

No, I wouldn't be thrilled because Dimel already had a winning record and a bowl game in 2021. I want to win a bowl and at least play in the CUSA championship game, not MAYBE a bowl win at some point.

Recruiting is about relationships. They left a FCS school to be part of a FBS program. Not the reverse. If you think El Paso “sucks”, I bet it 1000x better than their little city in Tennessee. “Gotta go to Nashville for that there buddy”.

Have you been to Clarksville? Why do you think it's 1,000x better than El Paso? Their population is a little over 175,000. It's far from "a little city".

Dimel was 20-49, had one winning season and went to one bowl game. "Respectable" as you asked me my opinion, is a winning record season after season, and bowl games. There are plenty of respectable programs who never make it to the conference championship but have winning records and win some bowl games. That's respectable. I really don't think we're too far apart in our expectations.
