Sorry, but that was a dumb question. More than 85% of the roster is out of town kids!
UTEP has always had a bunch of local kids. The quality of El Paso football has gone up tremendously so I have no problem with what Kugler and his staff are doing.
I respect what Kugler is trying to do with local recruits and improve El Paso's highschool football rep, but nobody is going to respect UTEP's program until he brings in real recruits. I would rather him sign a ton of good JUCO guys than bottom of the barrel recruits that have a feel good story. Sorry.
Relax people the roster is still mostly guys from out of town. It's great to get the top kids to stay home, but he still knows there's not enough talent to make a program. Jones brothers are proof of the talent, but it's still small in comparison. So to those of ya'll getting worried that they're just recruiting locally Relax, cause that's a ridiculous idea!
Yup. Up north too. UTEP has one d lineman Kugler got from Wisconsin. With that being said, make me wonder about the budget. Recruiting the upper northwest is no cheap fangango. He must have set some recruiting ties during his brief stint with Boise.
