It’s the only reasonAnd are not the reason that we're losing
So the bad shooting, poor defense (including on the inbounds plays), and horrible defensive rebounding have nothing to do with it?It’s the only reason
Liberty made plays as well.Fak.
UTEP Didn't play good d entire 2nd half.
I don't think it was bias; they were just bad.Refs are in the bag
This was a physical game and just 2 fouls under 2 and half ? But UTEP lost it by their own design.I don't think it was bias; they were just bad.
Flames have Jax State and MTSU. But SHSU is now playing prom crashing ball so UTEP can't afford to lose one of 6 bye spots.Well that sucked. Couldn't afford to give away another one at home - yet we did. We're still in it mathematically, but this effectively ends our shot at a conference regular season crown.
UTEP got an out of bounds call. But eh, didn't help Miners. The refs definitely missed some calls, a couple of those calls or non calls proved to be crucial in that they changed the momentum in favor of Liberty, but still, it is only one contributing factor as to how UTEP let this one get away.
Giving up 14 threes is tough to overcome. The refs definitely missed some calls, a couple of those calls or non calls proved to be crucial in that they changed the momentum in favor of Liberty, but still, it is only one contributing factor as to how UTEP let this one get away.

Good points. I’ve wondered the same thing. I give Liberty credit for knocking down 3s at the clip they did, but those inbounds plays and uncontested layups the Miners gave away are inexcusable. Mental lapses? Laziness? Both? For all our pressure D and steals and deadball turnovers we cause, sometimes that D is to our detriment. We gave away 8 points on inbounds plays, non-contested layups, or dunks. What's the use of all this pressure defense when in critical moments they fall asleep? And of course, our perimeter defense was decimated by simple screens because we put so much pressure on the ball if they slipped us with the screen that gave them wide-open threes. And they hit them.
Also, our offense was frustrating. We had a 9-point lead in the second half they started hitting threes and of course, we had our obligatory scoring drought. We couldn't score for about a 4-minute stretch.
This team can be really good and pretty bad…all in the same half of play.
I've felt that in a few games of conference play. OF3 tries to compensate for the lack of offense from everyone else I think and dribbles too much and gets in trouble or forces perimeter shots, his game is driving to the hoop IMO and he gets caught up in trying to do more.Good points. There was a time when I thought Jones should have gone in for OF3. Looked like Otis was trying to carry the team on his back and was forcing things too much. He got sloppy. He does this on occasion and you can see it coming. Not sure why Golding doesn’t adjust during these times. I think a 2-3 minute break, and a different look on the court might’ve helped things.

Fully agree. The Miners will miss him badly when he’s gone.I've felt that in a few games of conference play. Having said that, he's the best overall player on the team with David T a distant second.

Hopefully no rebuild under Golding. We need a better coach heading to the MWC.The problem with that is... good teams don't pull this kind of bs. We're not a good team. Just good enough to be disappointed.
Worse, this is the best roster we've had in the Golding era. We had to BUILD to get here so get ready to start all over again.
I remember being a student during the Gillispie/Sadler years and feeling bad for fans of teams whose only hope was to win their conference every 5 or 6 years... not even being good enough to care about the bubble or make the NIT. Somehow we've fallen lower than that.
