I do wonder, if a merger happens, is UTEP still included? I would guess so, since things are signed by the regents? Imagine having to stay in CUSA! Yuck.
I would guess that a merger is very unlikely, though still possible.

The PAC 12 thought they were going to be able to get AAC teams and not have to deal with San Jose and Wyoming. Now they have to settle for Texas St and someone else. They’re also lucky Utah St decided to join them or else they’d be in worse shape.

UTEP has 1 more season in CUSA. In the unlikely event of a merger happening, UTEP would be included in that. Along with UC-Davis, GCU, and NIU.

The NBA and the Liberal news stations ratings have nothing to do with cable tv.

The NBA fell on their own sword with its Wokeness. Secondly, it is becoming trash basketball with everyone just dribbling the ball around and then jacking up 3's There is a lack of rivalries as there is a lack of competitive balance. They have the highest blowout percentage this year of over 20 points than any other year. The defense is laughable.

The lack of continuity as the players change teams, and the fact that they don't value the regular season as players complain about playing back to back games and still sit out too many even with the new rules. Heck, I can't even figure out the jersey's anymore as they have so many different colors.

There is a dearth of American stars, as most of the top players are not born in the US.

As for the News stations, Fox has ratings that are at its highest in nearly a decade, while CNN and MSNBC are the ones that are seeing their lowest ratings ever. Fox's ratings are better than both of those combined. That is easy to figure out why. Credibility and not being neutral. The numbers are drastically different as MSNBC has dropped 46% and CNN 33% while Fox has gained a 73% share. The Liberal stations have been seeing a decline over the last few years and yet have continued with the same format ad nauseum. You would think Jerry Jones was running both those networks.

I disagree that it's because of wokeness and what you say. I think people are getting tired of sitting at home watching TV.. Who really does that anymore?? People have more things to do now than they did 20 years ago .20 years ago people planned to watch TV and their favorite cable show. Now I think watching TV is a last option thing to do . People rather go wait in line at a new Albertsons store opening than sit at home and watch TV.

You don’t get it - not surprised.

Almost everyone watches tv. Most people decide to watch it on their terms though. Watching the new episode of Friends, Seinfeld, or MASH was appointment television back then. It’s not that way anymore. People will watch on their own terms. Especially since they can watch of their phone or tablet, instead of an actual tv.

Sports and live programming or the only reasons to watch as it happens. I have never met anyone that doesn’t watch tv.

To all the media moguls on here, ALL of the MSM is owned and managed by conservatives.

It looks like you don't get it . You know who is famous now? It's not movie stars or TV stars. It's streamers. People are not watching local television. Do you know who is Kai and Speed are??

No, I have no clue who they are. Do you know what is good grammar are?

I don’t think the PAC is interested. That said, would It not be the same problem MWC and CUSA faced? One auto bid for 16+ school merged conference.
Yes, it would be the same problem. A 18 team conference with 1 Autobid. Slightly bigger than the power conferences, but without the all the money.

They’re going to have to add Texas St and probably 1 other team. If the numbers aren’t there, what else could they do?

Thanks for proving my point. None of those are TV stars well except maybe the Kardashians they had a cable TV show. Kylie doesn't do anything on TV . The Rock does do movies but that's it. This just proves my point that nobody watches TV. Jake Paul and Logan are streamers and just cut in line of everyone on TV. They got famous from not being on one network channel. You have Kevin Hart and Nicki Minaj famous people going to be on these streamers shows. Why you think they are doing this ?? Look at all the podcasts that are popping up. Television is done.

I proved your point how? All athletes on the list gained their fame primarily from fans watching them where? On TV. TV catapulted Selena Gomez, the Rock, Jennifer Lopez, and the Kardashians to fame. As for the singers, don't underestimate the role that TV has played in their fame. No one on the list began their careers as a social media influencer, they were famous for other things first.

It’s live now

So far Senter says:
~1000 Mexican students enrolled who pay a little bit more than in state tuition
~1000 students live on campus
Has no games scheduled against Rice, UNT or UTSA, but mentioned he would like to schedule them and SMU in the future. Didn’t mention any sport specifically.

Skipped over expansion questions and claims he doesn’t currently meet or has met with other MWC ADs

I don't know why coaches care?? They the first ones to leave when a better job opens up.
Fair point.

I realize this coach was not around during the infamous airport meeting. Plus, rumor has it UNM fought for us. Still, I thought it was funny that the tables have turned and now UNM is left behind.

I know this is specific to me but this just makes our move to the MWC even better to me. The teams I want to see every season are in the MWC and the ones I didn’t care about are in PAC. TXST to the PAC makes the MWC just a little more stable. We are going from Kennesaw St and SHSU to UNLV and Neveda. I love it.
Now just need a bb coach, make that two!

Uh huh sure. Pac has Gonzaga and San Diego St while MWC has UNLV and Nevada. MWC has UC Davis and San Jose.

I would think SDSU, Boise State and Colorado State are decent loses to the MWC, especially for football. But yes, the MWC is head and shoulders above CUSA, and in basketball it will not bode well for us in being able to compete unless we make changes.

The jury is still out on football, and one has to think that we are making those preparations on the recruiting side. I feel better about football than I do basketball.

Right on. I started off my post saying it was probably specific to me. I’m excited about Nevada, UNLV, UNM, and Grand Canyon. I can realistically make a trip out of those road games. Especially budget wise. I can also convince my poker buddies to make those trips.

Yes, and it is more exciting to go see a road trip in those places than a road trip anywhere in CUSA. I don't know of any places that excite me to visit in CUSA outside of Miami and maybe Jacksonville as cities to visit. Team wise, there are no teams in CUSA that excite me to play beside NMSU.
