I say who cares what deal Utep got, Utep is a back in a normal conference. Look at SMU they didn't care they got a crappy deal but at least they in a power conference. I bet Oregon State and WAZZu would do anything to leave the PAC 12 and join a real power conference.

We’ll see. Cuz it’s not only what the MW will get but what bs deal Senter worked out. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s below what other members will get and that’s why they denied the open records request.
There will definitely be uneven distribution of revenue amongst the members. To keep UNLV and AF, they had to do that. Make them feel special.

Very plausible Senter goofed up and got us a 25% share and a Planet Fitness membership. But, there was no way to know the PAC would have to stoop down to the NMSUs of the world for their final membership slot. UTEP had to jump on the opportunity to get into the MWC.

UTEP should receive about 3.5 million per year but final numbers should come out soon.

I would say at the worst 50% so if that’s true then 1.75 million would be a million more and a 133% increase than what we get in CUSA. Also if that’s true is the case hopefully it’s not forever and only for a designated amount of years.

I hope you guys are right but I can’t wrap my head around a world where a conference loses all of its top brands, replaces them with programs like UTEP and UC Davis, and somehow maintains the same level of TV revenue. It defies basic logic.
Its inflation *bro*

Curious why you purposely excluded Grand Canyon for Basketball and N. Illinois for Football and didn’t mentionUC Davis is Basketball only? Anywho, inflation was mentioned, but also addition by subtraction is something you’re forgetting. Less teams, Bigger pieces!

Fewer teams also means fewer markets and less exposure for the league to sell to tv networks. As I’ve said from the beginning, don’t take everything you see online at face value. Until there’s an official announcement speculation is just that.

The speculation hasn’t just been from us though Corona, it’s been from pretty reliable sources. People who know a lot more than you or I.

The only semi reliable source I’ve heard tossing around those figures is someone unknown from the Mountain West offices. Forgive me if I’m not naive enough to believe those numbers. Of course they’re going to spin things in the most favorable light. They’re trying to position themselves as an attractive destination for expansion. It’s basic PR strategy, inflate the upside, downplay the reality. Until I see the actual contract details I’ll remain skeptical.

Live programming is really the only thing keeping tv alive at this point. Will the MWC get the same or more than the Pac 12? I don’t think so, not even close. Still because of later tip and kick offs, MWC programming is still valuable. No reason not to believe they can get the same amount per team or more starting in 2026.

I don’t see it being much less than before, maybe a little. The core teams will get the most, followed by Hawaii, N. Illinois and Utep probably the same only because Utep is bringing all sports, Grand Canyon and then UC Davis
Estimates based on what MWC officials are saying and speculation. Either way Itep is in a much better situation however you wanna slice it. Travel- Better, Rivalries-Better, Money Better

My Estimation: TV Deal Pay Outs per school

UNLV & Air Force 4.5-5 million
Wyoming, SJSU, UNM, Nevada 3.5-4 million
Hawaii 2.5-3 million, plus Travel Costs
N. Illinois (Football) and Utep 2-2.5 million
Grand Canyon St. (Basketball) 1-1.5 million
UC Davis (Basketball) 750K-1 million

I’m pretty sure the media payouts will be the same for all full members. Only NIU, GCU, and UCD should get reduced media payments.

UNLV and Air Force are pocketing most of the exit fees compared to the others, they’re not going to get a majority of the media value too.

That’s something they all resented when Boise received more.

Well if that does prove to be the case that’s better for Utep and I’d be very surprised if it’s under 3 million for any of the full members. Corona is comparing MWC to CUSA deal and forgetting the Sun Belt gets 2 million per team. The realigned MWC will 100% get more than the SBC.
