On my projector they looked red, on the tv they looked orange red… and you are probably color blind.😂

When the university switched over completely to the Tennessee orange Jeff Darby had said in an interview that the reason was that the old orange looked red on TV.
I wish we would go back to the old orange unis we had during the Price winning years. Our unis looked similar to the Denver Broncos. I also liked the other color combinations like grey, blue and orange we had. I’m not a fan of the Tennessee orange.

I think the color change was stupid. I have not heard a good explanation yet. Utep needs to worry more about winning and less about uniform colors. I bet some marketing comoany said a slight change in colors would lead to more merch sales. At the DHC the seats are Miner orange and the floor look like Tennessee - it’s incongruent. Even Larry Durham, interviewed last night by Teich, said the new color looks bad and he had no idea why the color was changed.
Confirmed that the TWC jerseys will stick around for yearly one time game. I wouldn't be surprised a white TWC jersey to be used in the future as well. More TWC stuff will be sold in the future as well.
The color was changed in 1999-2000 but not implemented till 2018. The old orange looked red on TV so the shade was changed. Jeff Darby said it was a "correction" more than a change.
Correct, the new orange was never implemented cross campus uniformly, so we had things with lighter orange and darker orange. You would see this in shirts given out to students over the years. So, now we see the correct orange which is the lighter orange used across campus.
