This is the time to cash in. We should be looking for payday games. Forget trying to be bowl eligible and buying FCS games. Let’s hit the road and get that Dimel buyout cash.
I like that idea. Without the Covid the best case scenario was like 4-8. Might as well set up your program for future success by raising some funds.

Big 12, SEC, and ACC have their schedules already. Who is going to give us payday games?

Not only that but what are the chances the season even goes past September? IMO we should be on the phone with every P5 team looking for an opponent. We could make 3 million in two games and call it a wrap. Might be the first time the team finishes in the black.

New Mexico State has announced the postponement of its football season because of COVID-19 concerns and state restrictions.

The Aggies are the third independent FBS program to decide not to play in the fall, joining Connecticut and Massachusetts. They are the 53rd major college football program overall to opt not to play.

In making the decision, New Mexico State noted it had four games left on its schedule, plus the state of New Mexico has a 14-day quarantine for those traveling into and out of the state.

New Mexico State says it will explore playing football in the spring.

“Rival New Mexico has postponed its season as part of the Mountain West’s decision to attempt to play in the spring.

New Mexico State competes in the Western Athletic Conference for other sports, and that conference also announced it would not have fall sports this year.

Fans will be allowed into MotoGP races for the first time this season, at the Misano circuit in Italy next month.

The region of Emilia Romagna has given the circuit permission to open to a maximum of 10,000 fans a day for the doubleheader of the San Marino and Emilia Romagna MotoGP rounds.

There will be strict measures in place to protect against the coronavirus, and fans will not be allowed to roam around.

The circuit has a capacity of around 110,000 including more than 40,000 in the stands and welcomed approximately 160,000 people across the three-day weekend last year.

Organizers say in a statement: “It is a decision that makes us emotional because it also represents a green light for the restart of world sport finally in front of the fans.”

The first three MotoGP rounds were held without fans and no spectators will be allowed into the upcoming doubleheader in Austria.

French golfer Alex Levy has been withdrawn from the Celtic Classic, which started on Thursday.

Levy came into contact with a friend who has tested positive for the coronavirus, the European Tour said in a statement.

The contact happened while Levy was at home in France last weekend. When he arrived at Celtic Manor Resort in Wales on Tuesday, he tested negative. He is showing no symptoms, the tour said, but he has been withdrawn from the tournament as a precaution and must self-isolate for 14 days.

There’s ACC teams looking for games. Nebraska might want to play. Quit being so negative. You’ve been wrong about this entire deal. Give it a break.

Nebraska is not playing. What have I been wrong about? I was trying to bet minerforlife that games would be cancelled in May

I’m a realist. I don’t live in “great possibilities” during a pandemic.

A lot of things. I don’t feel like going back and going over them again. Your gig is to be the Debby downer board contrarian. So far you’ve been wrong.

I haven’t though. This season has always been in doubt. You just said Nebraska is a possibility and they’re not playing. So you’re wrong. UTEP isn’t getting another big road game. AND IT WONT MAKE A DIFFERENCE ANYWAY, AS THE SEASON WILL BE CANCELLED SOON.

We will find out soon if Senter wants to help Dimel get some wins or if he wants to raise immediate money for a possible buyout of Dimels contract. We will see by his scheduling for the cancelled games. If it is just road games then he is looking for immediate money. Even games at BYU or SMU or Houston would help the coffers to some degree.

Is it not true that Nebraska wants to play? I’m not wrong about that. You’re the one that said ACC has their schedule already. Wrong. There are still ACC teams looking for opponents.

Keep being the Debby downer prophet. I don’t care. We’re playing Texas Sept 12 until an official announcement is made otherwise. Got it?

They want to, but they’re not going to. So you’re wrong as UTEP will not be “playing” them in 2020.

Ohio St, Notre Dame, and UCLA might want to play. We could make 3 million in 2 games and call it a wrap. NMSU might want to play us 8 times this year.
I don’t *****ng care. I have a life outside of the internet. I’m not up to the second informed of every decision everyone is making. Last night Nebraska said they wanted to play.

You can continue to look for any excuse why not to make things work. Some of us look for any solution to make something work.

A lot of things can happen. Another G5 team can bail out on their P5 game. The opportunities are there if you’re willing to search for them.

Ok, well don’t come and say “you’re wrong” when you’re wrong yourself and then don’t give evidence of me being wrong.

Evidence? Show me evidence of Nebraska not wanting to play? Then I’ll agree I’m wrong. All you gotta do is google ACC teams and you can easily figure out which ones are looking for games. That you’re 100% wrong about. No other way around it.

Can individual teams inside of conferences do their own thing in 2020? For example, lets say Nebraska wants to play despite what the Big 10 says. I can see some of the non-California PAC-12 teams doing the same.

I just posted the tweet from their leadership. They’re standing with the Big 10, so they’re not playing.

All this to prove that I’m wrong by saying “Nebraska might want to play” which in itself is a correct statement since just yesterday Frost released this statement “We want to play no matter who it is or no matter where it is”

Zero acknowledgement of your incorrect information regarding the ACC schedule. Typical.

If it was Ohio St or Michigan saying they were going to play anyway, the Big 10 office would say "wonderful, have a great season" because the Big 10 would shit bricks if either of those 2 were to push it.

Can? Who knows. Will they? No
My prediction is 20-40 D1 Teams will play this year. Some programs are too big and the political leadership in those places won't get in their way.

No way Alabama doesn't play this year. Half the team can have Covid, they're playing.

My guess is some type of ad-hoc season where everyone is a kind of "independent".

Maybe even like 4-8 team playoff at the end to "legitimize" the season.

Some poster said most of the cancellations are about liability. Schools don't want to be responsible for covid bills, etc. I think some schools won't care.

But this guess is mostly a gut feeling. Nothing based on research or anything.

I want a raise after my company said there will be no raises this year!!! I want a raise no matter what!!!

I wonder how that would go over?

BC and Pitt have an open non-conference opponent on 9/12. Oh, we’re scheduled with Texas, so those 2 are out.

Clemson has an open date for 9/19. So Clemson is UTEPs only shot at scheduling an ACC team this year. I’m really sure they’re going to schedule a team from a COVID hotspot the week after they played at UT.

Those are the only 3 ACC teams with an opening on their schedules. Not happening. You can believe in unicorns and Jurassic park, I look at the facts.

Thanks for proving my point. If your boss says no raise does that mean you don’t want the raise anymore? Im pretty sure you still want a raise even though you’re not getting one.

Thanks for proving my other point that the ACC schedule isn’t set.

Yeah dude, you’re so right about someone wanting to do something impossible!!!!!

So Clemson or nothing. How much you want to bet they don’t schedule UTEP on 9/19?

I’m not betting. I’m just pointing out that you are wrong. The ACC schedule is not completed.
