I still think Dak is mental. He's playing scared and holds the ball too long despite refusing to run anymore. His accuracy has fallen off and the O-line is not helping. Having an anemic run game and decimated D is compounding the issue 10x. Dak is only playing decent when playing with a big lead or when playing from way behind.60 million per year for a so-so quarterback. not to mention something like 34 million per year for a decent wide receiver. neither of which will get the cowgirls a super bowl win without tons more help.
49ers were really banged up as wellYep. The decimated defense may be the worst in the NFL right now
Yeah the Cowboys are awful49ers were really banged up as well
The non-decimated defense wasn't exactly lighting it up.Yep. The decimated defense may be the worst in the NFL right now
And rightfully so. Dak is trash.

Probably the best everThey do have a pretty good placekicker, though.
Rafael Septién was the Cowboys best placekicker ever.Probably the best ever
Guy who diddled little girls? I never saw him make long field goals the way Aubrey doesRafael Septién was the Cowboys best placekicker ever.
Aubrey is a great kicker. I wish Aubrey was at Tampa.Guy who diddled little girls? I never saw him make long field goals the way Aubrey does
Why do you think that Trey Lance is their future? He has looked terrible when given the chance.Dak's injury came about a month too late. Would have maybe given them a chance to see if they could anything out of/for Lance prior to the trade deadline.
Still should. If he's out any appreciable amount of time, they need to start Lance over Rush. Rush is a good backup that you can trust to keep you on track if you're a winning team. Not so much this year. They need to play Lance and see if they can do something with him.
Thinking like Jerry Jones is throwing Rush out there, hoping he goes 3-1, and wishing Dak comes back to take the team to playoffs. Why do you think that Trey Lance is their future? He has looked terrible when given the chance.
You are thinking like Jerry Jones and that is not a good thing. Lance has not panned out in practice games, or preseason. He may throw for 300 plus yards and run for a few, but at the same time throw 5 interceptions.
Secondly, how can you not think that Cooper Rush can keep a team on track when they are winning? He was 5-1 as a starter the last time Dak was hurt. I have never seen Cooper have a terrible game. He does not make a ton of mistakes, and can manage a game. He is their future more so than Lance.
The issue this year is that Cooper will not have a RB to help him. He is great at managing a game if you have an actual RB that is decent. He does not have that and therefore will have to pass a lot more than he should. What you will see is a ton of 3 to 4 yard passes instead of passes down the field because of the lack of a RB. This is going to be very tough for him to overcome.
You may be right that Lance would be better in this offense, because he can run. Maybe the Cowboys need a QB that runs all the time because that would give them the RB they need. But one would venture to say that Lance would be a ton less accurate than Rush.
Either way, this team is set up to lose a ton of games regardless of who the QB is due to not having a RB. The only thing I can say is that Dak is paid 60 million to carry the team regardless of their shortcomings. He has not, and is not that kind of superstar. I am 100 percent in agreement with you that Dak should have never been resigned. The money should have been used on a RB, and they should have let Dak play out his contract.
The thing is that Rush has proven himself. He is most likely the better backup. It gives the team the best chance to win. It is the smart decision to go with him. Trying to make sense of the Lance trade is trying to make sense of anything Jerry does. You can't. This is the guy that wanted Johnny Manziel over Zack Martin.Thinking like Jerry Jones is throwing Rush out there, hoping he goes 3-1, and wishing Dak comes back to take the team to playoffs.
I said exactly what you said about Rush. He's a great backup for a good team. He doesn't make mistakes can get you through a few games if needed. But he has to have a good running game, good playmakers, and a good defense to do it. Guess who doesn't have a good running game, good playmakers, or a good defense this year. He can win you a bunch of 21-17 games. He's not going to win a bunch of 42-35 games.
I'm basically trying to make any sense of the Lance trade. When it was made, you could justify it in 2 ways. One, you were going to let Dak walk and have him take over. Or two, hope he showed enough to flip him for draft picks. Both are off the table now. As long as you're paying him, you might as well see if he has anything. The season's been over since the Detroit anyway. Maybe he catches lightning in a bottle and you end up trading Dak in the offseason. Very highly unlikely, but what do you have to lose at this point. Or else you just paid $10 million for the most expensive third string emergency QB in history.
If they could get a seventh round pick and a bag of practice footballs for Lance tomorrow, I'd take it.
