As a season ticket holder for Austin FC I was given a pre-sale for the semifinals. USMNT is expected at Q2. Bought two tickets at 100 each. Plan to sell them for 300 each as we get closer to the game.

As a Raider Fan, the one thing I am not liking about the move to Vegas is that the secondary market is buying up all the seats knowing that people will plan trips around shows and events.

I know that the Casinos and resellers know that Mexican Soccer Fans Travel well and that game is going to be an in-demand event.

The days of Parking overnight and lining up at 3am for $50 Janet Jackson 5th row Tickets have been replaced by ticket bots and $1000 to get anywhere close to having good views.

The only solution is to not buy at the high prices. Once people stop buying tickets a 3x the regular price, they will stop selling them that high and eventually stop buying them. Aside from concerts, all the sporting events will be televised. Can always watch it on TV.

Try buying a PS5, been trying to buy one since Nov. you can't find one except in the secondary market marked up to triple the price. I won't pay that much. I could but I won't. Because all the inventory is sold exclusively online bots sell out inventory in seconds.

Lol me too.

My son apparently told his friends I got him one.

So his friend gets one. They play on the same baseball team. I was talking to his friends Dad and he tells me a story that he camped out for like 14 hours and got one of 8 that arrived at Walmart. I tell this guy, "I would never do that." And he replies, "Where did you get yours?" And I said, "I dont have one but I try all the time." And he's like, "shit, the only reason I camped out is your son tells my son how awesome his is and that you bought it the day it came out "

I know some of you are from Austin, but I'm sorry, that city sucked balls when it came to soccer. How that town got a team is beyond me

I'm in San Antonio and Austin getting an MLS team meant we will never get one as long as they have one. But I can see why they got it. There are way more people with lots of disposable income there than here. Also, have you seen Austin when NBC does their Premier League fan fest over there? There are a lot of people that are rabid soccer fans; not necessarily crazy about MLS but there are several places in Austin where supporters of each Premier League team gather to watch their games. The fan base for Austin FC definitely has a Portland Timbers vibe to it. Say what you want about the quality of MLS, but the Sounders v. Timbers rivalry is one of the best in sports.

Maybe you are speaking to the time frame when you were growing up. I don’t know. I know I had the same perception back in the 80s and early 90s. However, my oldest started playing here in south-central Texas about 2000. It was immediately evident that the Austin soccer climate had changed immensely. From the ground up, it is a soccer rabid area. Honestly, I would put Austin up against Houston for second best soccer cities in Texas, and if it’s not quite there, it’s only because of population disparity. I think the tech boom had a lot to do with the change.

Now that there is an MLS team, it’s obvious that Austin can more than hold its own in the soccer world.

People see the lack of support for the Bold as the reason why Austin doesn't support soccer. It's hard to support a team whose owner spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to stop Precourt and his MLS2ATX movement.

I'm a bit bias cuz I'm heavily invested in the Austin soccer scene but the fans and SG we've created is already bigger than any other team or city in the state.

Tomorrow we will finally show the world the secret we've been hiding. Tune in cuz we're about to raise the bar for American soccer culture.

Not going to stop the chants, since most people just don't see it as an insult. The word gets thrown around in regular conversations, like nothing.

You may be right. It’s of no consequence to those fans. I know European soccer is not perfect but they investigate claims of racist chants and ban offenders regularly. The United States and Mexico do not have a system like that in place and unfortunately people think they can yell anything without any consequence.

How about BANNING the team from competition altogether?

My entire life I've known that word to be a male whore. In America that could be considered a compliment. Oh well.

I think it's more like the word bro. I have friends that call each other p the way friends call each other bro.
I see. So it's more like the word Ni--a?

I mean I see what you mean, but it doesn't make it right because of its true meaning. There is no real correlation to the game.

Yes good example.

The Mexican culture requires for one to have thick skin. They'll use your biggest insecurity and turn it into your nickname.

I remember in school, girls calling each other whores or bitches. Not in a fighting sense but as an endearment. That's the same thing Mexicans say with that word.
