Then it would fall down again. The way the Haskins Center was constructed the roof cant handle to load of center court hung jumbotron. When they replaced the video boards in The DHC and Sun Bowl a few years ago the plan was for The Haskins Center to get a state of the art huge center court hung scoreboard. The engineers told UTEP that the roof couldn't handle the load and there was no way to reinforce the roof unless the entire thing was ripped off and rebuilt. That's why there are video screens on both end lines and no center hung scoreboard.

Yet, their used to be a center- court scoreboard when it first opened in '77 but on a much smaller scale.
