What a bait-and-switch. Here I was excited because I thought it was about UTEP. You could have put Lobos in the title.
But yes, it would be pretty cool. For this season only, the NCAA is allowing a schools to play one full-on Division I "exhibition" game (so it doesn't count in the official record) to raise money for hurricane victims. The HUGE one was the Kansas-Missouri game, one of the nastiest rivalries in all of sports, but the teams strangely never play each other anymore after Missouri went to the SEC. Lots of bad blood. I'm glad they set aside their differences to raise a bunch of money for a good cause.
I think UTEP could definitely use another warm-up game given the way they played in Costa Rica. Get the slow start out of the way. Since BYU is not available, my second choice would be Nevada. UTEP and Nevada had a good thing going while they were still in the WAC.
