The definition of the "Next Big Thing for El Paso" is in the eye of the beholder. I've always found it fun to see El Paso in movies such as
Glory Road,
Lone Wolf McQuade and
Extreme Prejudice, and personally don't mind you posting info on
One Battle After Another to this thread.
However, there are certainly those for whom "Next Big Thing for El Paso" is the next thing that will significantly improve tourism, the economy, or activities for the city. Under this definition a movie shoot, a chain restaurant, etc. do not count. The last "Big Thing" under this definition that I can personally think of is the addition of the Chihuahuas.
One note: while I think it is cool that the movie was shot in El Paso, there will be no lasting impact. Here is a list of movies, TV shows/episodes, sporting events, etc. that were at least partially filmed in El Paso:

As you can see from the list, there have been quite a few. However, if you perform a similar search for Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Tucson, or Phoenix, you will see that we pale in comparison to other Southwest cities (especially Tucson, with it's Old Tucson movie studio) when it comes to hosting movie and TV productions.
We
are not going to become Hollywood Soutwest, and this movie had practically zero impact on the economy. Seeing El Paso in a movie again will be cool, though.
