By all indications, my taxes will be going up under Donald and the wealthy will be getting another tax cut. As a taxpayer and citizen, why would I care if the government sheds spending on various programs if my taxes still go up? After all the grandstanding - I’m going to have less money in my pockets.

Look, you are being dupped by the democrat party. The "tax cut" you are referring to is extending the tax cuts already in place, not new ones. If they don't extend them, you will THEN get the largest tax increase ever. Cutting government spending/waste/corruption will HELP your pocket change. As a taxpayer and a citizen, you SHOULD care where your government has been spending your tax dollars and be pissed. If we get rid of the bs, they can cut more taxes, yanno like taxing elderly, taxing social security, etc....
