I remember after the 2008 season and former Tech HC Leach marched into the presidents office and negotiated his own contract which is not kosher at those ranks (and as the country was just about to hit its second "great depression"). Totally legal, but you don't do it. The president called Tech's biggest booster for his input and he told him he thought Leach was nuckin' futz and complained it took Leach ten years just to crack the top ten (to #6). That was the beginning of the end of the crazy arse pirate days in Lubbock.
