Well said Mambo, I agree 100 percent with everything you said. You said you were at the tournament, was there a good Miner contingent compared to the other teams?Great - UTEP picked up two very good wins over the Thanksgiving holidays. I don't know if this has been posted, but CSU had a 21 game non-conference schedule winning streak that ended last night.
I was at the tourney and have the following observations:
Touchet grew last night. His minutes were limited but he was not intimidated and showed a quick first step and the ability to drive to the bucket.
Hooper is playing like a fifth year senior. Most of us knew that the success of this year's team, especially after Willms went down, rested on our inside game. Hooper has stepped up in a big way and has had double digits in all games this year. What a great story.
Lee Moore wants to win. He will not accept losing. He is a warrior.
Morris drove to the hoop at will in the second half. He is clutch.
Artis is a very good guard. He was thrown off his game against Southern bc of fouls. Yesterday, he did some small things very well but was not himself. I still feel very safe with him handling the ball.
Winn is breaking out. He does not look or play like a freshman. He brings a great energy to the team and plays with confidence.
CSU was as good a rebounding team as I've ever seen in person. Still, we need to do better and Floyd will work on that before the NMSU game.
This team has heart and can go a long way.
Any word on McSwiggan?

There are multiple RPI's. Which one are you looking at? Also, is there one RPI that is proclaimed the "official RPI" ?
Great points Mambo. Hooper and Winn surprised me. I didn't know Hoop had an inside game and Winn plays taller than his height.
As of 8:15, UTEP is #226. Hope we can get into the CBI this year.
Maybe. But not by much. We have lingered in the 200's for quite a while now. What tells you we are better than that?#7 was too early to mean anything statistically. Were better than #226.
