So, who will be coming to the tournament? I will be driving up Wednesday afternoon sometime. The game is at 6:30 and the traffic from Dallas is horrendous on the Tollway at rush hour.

I have my tickets, live 5 minutes from the Star and will be there. For those of you who have not seen the Star you will be impressed by the surroundings: restaurants, sports bars and lots of things to do within 5 miles. Frisco has become a wonderful town.
I'm tentatively planning on picking one of the many eating spots at The Star around 3 or 4 and hang around til tipoff. Anyone like to join in?
I'm flying up tonight. This year UTEP will have the band and cheerleaders along with many more fans than the Birmingham years. Anyone going to either pep rally tomorrow?
Womens team at 10:15 at The STAR. Men also at the STAR but not sure of the time yet.
Here at the tournament and the set up really is disappointing - scoreboards on floor and hard to see, wood bleachers on one side and if you didn’t pay for the floor you are sitting behind the baskets a good 50’ or more. Couple that with minimal concessions and the seriously uptight ticket takers with their TSA wands questioning me on my zipper, not sure I’ll come back next year. Being this is a C-USA led event I’m not surprised it’s a clown show.
Even with the band playing on our side we can hear the cheering from the Rice/ODU game and I’m on the far side of the curtain
FiliUTEP said it was cool to be playing at the Cowboys practice facility though! The players and fans are going to marvel at the DCPF and make anyone they talk to jealous of this great opportunity. Next year will have better attendance once word of mouth hits.
It was a great game. Tamara Seda stepped up and UTEP overcame some mistakes to put USM away. Looking forward to the men's game tonight. Great to see our fans

Only thing worse than this set up at Jerry’s House is the officiating. Somewhere there’s a Y missing their peewee officials. I’m sick of this $hi+ conference and their inconsistent JV officials.
Foul calls and free throws were pretty even. Truth is UTSA is just a better team and that’s why they beat us in all three games this season. Officiating had nothing to do with the outcome of the game.
Refs let them play IMO. UTEP was cold but UTSA out hussled UTEP every possession and every rebound. The last 3 to 4 minutes was poor management on offensive side when UTEP's full court stymied UTSA at times and led to turnovers but UTEP did not create points. That was 100% Miner failure.
Right, down 10 with about four minutes left UTEP had 4 or 5 possessions in a row where UTSA didn't score but neither did we.
After watching the game last night I’m beginning to understand why our tv deal is horrible. No one in our own league wants to watch our games. I think the UTSA vs UTEP game averaged around 1,500 viewers. On a free stream that could easily be found on Facebook. Very dissatisfying numbers.
Yes but my point is that two cities with a combined metro population of over 3 million and only 1500 people cared enough to watch the game. This doesn’t include Marshall fans who might have interest in who their next opponent is. Or other CUSA fans who are hardcore basketball geeks and want to watch other games.
I’m calling it now the next CUSA tv deal will be worse than the current one we have.
And this deal is not very good to begin with. They’re relying on several small networks to carry their games. ESPN 3, BEIN, Stadium..... PBS....
