So, looking at UAB's roster on ESPN (<-Link), there are a fair amount of juniors and seniors. How does that work? Are they transfers from other schools? JUCOs? Or are they players UAB recruited back in 2015 to play for a team that didn't exist?

Since they're restarting their program, did the NCAA make a special exemption for transfers to UAB from other FBS schools that they don't have to sit out a year? (Not a joke question; I'm genuinely curious.)

I'm just curious how a junior or senior football player comes to find himself on this particular UAB squad.

From what I have read the past two years, a few players stayed believe it or not. From what I read the past year UAB did get some stud transfers with the promise they would get immediate playing time. They got one really good rb. Their coach tried to minimize the SMU affect when restarting a program but it just doesn't work because reality is a karma biatch. The UAB fans are all shatting their pants with delight but that will wane some as the year goes on if I had to guess. But hey, the UTEP game sure looks winnable on 11/25.

Most of their JRs and SRs should be over the age of 21 by now making them one of the oldest group of upperclassmen age wise in the league. Crazy. And I read the same, they loaded up on JUCO and transfers....

Need to keep focus on how and why UAB football was taken away. It is extremely disturbing. How on God's green earth there was no civil action taken is beyond me?! Criminal may be hard to prove but there was definite ill intent to kill UAB football.

And no you can not compare this to Baylor. Baylor's problems were self inflicted by them and only them.
