New A.D. Jim Center just announced the creation of a group of "civilians" tasked to provide input on upgrading the game day experience. Assume this to mean football and both women's and men's buckets.

A thoughty concept. Hope it helps light a fire under the lukewarm student body.

Cool, fantastic news. I haven’t heard about this. Keep in mind, I don’t have Twitter, Facebook, or access to UTEP’s internet site. Nor do I watch the local news. How can one sign up for this?

Like you, I think it's an idea whose time has come. From the UTEP athletic department website, here are details:

Applications will be accepted from now through May 18 online at www.utepathletics.com/fancouncil. The council will be composed of 30 individuals, representing different constituents and perspectives, on one, two and three-year terms. Council members will be selected in late May, with meetings to be held quarterly starting in June.
