UTEP doing UTEP things

The question is what is UTEP' side? NCAA rules violation?
They presumably booked at least 2 high school spring games with schools. If this is a NCAA violation, UTEP was unaware when they agreed to have them there.

So at best, they were “unaware” until the last minute. Otherwise, what excuse would they have?

1. There is no reason for a local team to have their spring game in the Sun Bowl.

2. Chihuahuas host local baseball teams but the local teams have to sell x amount of tickets because it’s not free to staff an event.

This could just be a staffing problem.

3. This is why we need a City/UTEP true partnership or the City needs to tell UTEP to F Off.

Local districts pay a ton of money to the College for Graduations, sporting events, trainings etc… and it’s never reciprocated. UTEP acts like it’s a hassle to help.

El Paso needs an Arena and a Multi Purpose Stadium like the SAC that’s more Central. That way locally, we can tell UTEP we don’t need you like you think we do

There has to be a reason, but in typical UTEP. fashion they refuse to say. I thought with a new President in might change. But obviously it has not.
The big question is WHY?

From my understanding UTEP caught wind that parents and family were going to tailgate prior to the spring games and so they decided to shut it down altogether.

Still not sure why you would need the Sun Bowl for a WGAF practice.

Do you think Southwest Park can host Football? That would be pretty great to see HS games there in the fall.

Edit: Fenway Park does this

There is a big football officiating camp in El Paso that was going to use the Sun Bowl field but most importantly a replay booth for most of their scrimmages this weekend.
