When you have an " undesirable location" to recruit to you better have some top notch facilities.
Point is they've realized five winning seasons in 30 years isn't working. So they're doing what they can to be more competitive in today's world of college football. Is winning 11 games a year at SJSU an accomplishment? Especially when they didn’t have nice and new facilities.
Teams win without those things because they have good players and good coaches, at least for a season here and there.
1-11Man, that’s so weird that they are getting those built AFTER their Top 25 rankings and FCS Championships. Weird. Wonder if they continuously won 3 games a year if they would get those.
But still won 11 games 1 year, won a conference championship, won bowl games, and beaten P5 teams without those things.Point is they've realized 5 five winning seasons in 30 years isn't working. So they're doing what they can to be more competitive in today's world of college football.
Fair to say an IPF is needed more in Massachusetts than El Paso?1-11

To answer your question, yes.
That wasn't the original question you posed. Stop moving the goal posts. You've been doing that every time facts presented prove your statements bs.Fair to say an IPF is needed more in Massachusetts than El Paso?
Everything is not apples to apples. My question is how did SJSU accomplish those things without an IPF or stadium improvements and less fans than UTEP?That wasn't the original question you posed. Stop moving the goal posts. You've been doing that every time facts presented prove your statements bs.
They only thing they accomplished before they announced and broke grounds on their facility improvements was one 11 win season and one bowl win that same year.Everything is not apples to apples. My question is how did SJSU accomplish those things without an IPF or stadium improvements and less fans than UTEP?
If you announce and break grounds, what does that matter if you’re not going to play in it? How did they accomplish those things though? You’re still not answering. Could it be they had better players and coaches??They only thing they accomplished before they announced and broke grounds on their facility improvements was one 11 win season and one bowl win that same year.
Kind of embarrassing that even with less fan support they can get the funds for those type of projects.
Obviously that's not enough for them. Or else they would have been content to wait another 20-30 years for their next flash in the pan successful season.
You are extremely patient, my friend. But I think this is your end result. That wasn't the original question you posed. Stop moving the goal posts. You've been doing that every time facts presented prove your statements bs.
Yes the perfect storm brewed for them in 2012. They hired a good coach he accomplished something historic and left. The following coaches were unable to maintain the momentum. Since it took an anomaly covid season before they had a winning team again. If you announce and break grounds, what does that matter if you’re not going to play in it? How did they accomplish those things though? You’re still not answering. Could it be they had better players and coaches??
Because of the arms race.
I saw and article once that when Texas won the National Championship at the Rose Bowl, the Football Program made something over 100 million (don't remember the exact number) that year, but they also had just over 100 million in expenses. The net profit was in the 10s of millions.
The two big Alabama schools were saddling future students with mortgages for paying off gigantic screen upgrades, to have claim to the biggest jumbotron in the world (until some other school though they should get in on the action and get in to debt for...errr...invest in the football program).
It worked for Clemson, their football facility with movie theater, bowling alley, pool hall, food court, and countless other extravagant amenities, exclusively for football players. They attracted the best talent and got a national championship I am sure they are still paying for. Upgrades like that are worth more than the entire UTEP athletic program budget.
UTEP cannot compete, we don't have a sugar daddy like Phil Knight with Oregon, or what Boone Pickens did for Oklahoma St. We are part of a university system that has no interest in our success, since it would be detrimental to the flagship campus' success. We are lucky the system doesn't try to kill our programs, like the Alabama system did to the UAB program.
Have to rent or buy a bus every day you want to use it as a team. Do you think about stuff before you type it? Or just whatever pops up, you just type? What if UTEP and NMSU raised money together and built one they both can use? Or just build some sports multi sports complex near Canultiio.
Why would we help out a conference mate? What if UTEP and NMSU raised money together and built one they both can use? Or just build some sports multi sports complex near Canultiio.

UTEP has team buses it wouldn't cost anything. They have to get team buses to go to training camp in New Mexico. They could cancel the training camp in New Mexico and train in the new sports complex.Have to rent or buy a bus every day you want to use it as a team. Do you think about stuff before you type it?
