I'm watching on cable (KVIA) and it's the same problem. Poor UTEP feed....again
I may get booed out of this forum, but Jans would have had this team in a much better position. Probably could have brought in some Aggies too. Still feel like he was the overall better choice. Time will tell.
Maybe. I've said all year that I hate our double teaming out front on defense. We have good 3pt defense, but it destroys our interior defense and defensive rebounding.
Yep. The bigger issue was on the other end. We just couldn't stop Marshall inside or out. The only thing that kept is within reach were those ridiculous technicals called on Marshall.
Imo the refs could have done more to help us. After all we're not the team leaving at the end of the season.
Agreed, but our 3pt shooting has been good and our 3pt defense has been good. That's Golding's game (although he says layups as well). Today it was the opposite.
The interior defense and rebounding are always going to be an issue with this defense until we recruit up and have people in the right positions.
I have always thought that our roster could be really good at playing zone, but I dont think it's an option with Golding.

We were pretty bad in all phases. You have to give Marshall some credit. They have some good talent and they clearly have our number. I found it interesting that they have Kinsey playing some point. Seeing them against UAB a couple of weeks back, I thought they would give us trouble. Again, we gave up a career day to an opposing big. Unfortunately, they also made their threes. Tough one for sure. There is no way this team can get away with coming in unfocused against anyone in this conference thinking they will out talent anyone.
TV is definitely not a primary big. He brings a lot, but he also needs a lot of help. His offensive rebounding is way down this year.
I would imagine that this is so, primarily because we don’t have a BW this year that demands more attention by the defense freeing up TV a little bit more.
4 points just doesn’t cut it in a game like this.
Credit given where credit is due. Marshall is much better than that terrible W-L record of theirs. They were on fire, but apparently are not normally so.

I thought Golding's comment about trying every defensive combination except for zone against Marshall was kind of funny. He said they haven't practiced a zone defense all year, and that it probably wouldn't have worked against Marshall anyway due to their shooting ability. With a tough three game road swing ahead, he may want to dial up some new concepts 😀

Yes , Jans is a top notch coach. I like Golding but Jans is top notch.
I think I actually like our position right now. Just gotta get back on track.
You're not a baller if that loss didn't piss you off.
I'm not trolling the team. I'm saying UTEP will be rolling to play this week and peeved.
