UTEP @ ODU MBB

Toughest win of the year! Miners showed some guts being down and out on the road. This is the first game that Boum has closed out a game. I usually give him a lot of grief but I gotta give him credit tonight. Go Miners!

We have got to get Sibley more involved offensively speaking. Whether it’s spreading the court for him to take someone off the dribble and to the rim, letting more 3s fly, or his bread and butter mid range game, he is too valuable to not be getting more touches/opportunities. Just my .02.

As I have said before, thank you Coach Ewing.

He's too timid (surprisingly nowadays) taking shots. Maybe he doesn't feel like it's his place taking too many shots (Boum: "hold my beer") but he's still a freshman. He should gain more confidence taking the open jumper down the stretch and into next season. He's a decent slasher as well if he can shoot more outside shots and keep the same shooting percentage he would be dangerous.

Yep, we exposed ourselves at Bradley. Maybe we're starting to button up the overcoat.

I can appreciate that about him. Demonstrates a level of humility that is in short supply these days.

Hopefully he’s becoming more confident and his teammates welcome him being a bit more assertive. He shoots 6-7% higher from the field than the next closest guy (TV) on our team who has 50+ attempts. 10-12% higher than everyone else. That’s not chump change.

What happened with ODU?
He’s probably alluding to the fact that ODU took 47 free throws to our 27. At one point it was like 32 free throws to our 6. That disparity is the only thing that kept ODU in it.

Then, when crunch time came around, it was us (Boum) who got to the line and put the game away. I’m guessing that’s what 2step was talking about.

His aggressive opening OT drive was an exclamation point. You’re tired, ref’s are calling sneeze plays on you and he took a dominating layup to the hole that was an initial dagger to ODU in OT.

And that's huge! Against Kansas last year, we had a chance but Terry expected the team to win the game, at the end, without direction. Then Boum dribbled into no mans land and we lost. Boum has a guiding light now. A refreshing change!

Great finish by Boum in O.T. He should use those 5 minutes as his template for the rest of his career. Just play strong defense, get to the line and make free throws. I guess he finally listened to all us crazy fans.

Minus the dumb ass foul on the ODU 3-point shot with 24 seconds left, Boum gets a 10 for his play in OT.

Great win....I wonder what this team could be if it ever has a chance to build momentum and play games with all of its players, according to schedules and fully develop as a team.
Let's get Kennedy back and make a run. I can see with him us finishing finishing 17-12 or 18-13 if we end up playing M.Tennesse I think most Miner fans would say that'd be above expectations in Golding's first year.
