UTEP Promotion for the ODU game. Would you attend because of it?

Best promotion they've ever come up with. Pretty cool that it applies to all remaining home games. Hopefully this is enough to get a few thousand more in the door. Up to now the football team has done their part. It's up to the fans to show up and help them secure that 4-1 start that we haven't seen since Price was coach.

I hope this gets out there thru every media outlet and in both spanish and english. I hope that lots of casual fans find it motivation enough to go to the game. We need to present a strong image for those that may be watching.

This promotion needs to be on Univision. This will get the abuelitas and tias to the games.

Like i keep sayin' get loud and stand proud ..

If I was in town I'd be there. I understand the trepidation though. Last home game I was able to attend was Awesome. UTEP Vs Middle Tennessee to get to 7-5. Great too pic at the end and very Raucous Crowd of about 30+ thousand if I recall. I think UTEP sniffs 20,000 for this one, but a long way to go to get back to 30+ and 40+ thousand crowds. If last home game against Rice is to get to 6 or 7 wins or more I think that game gets 30-35 thousand.

Damn you haven't been to a home game in 7 years? The game was cold asf. I doubt we hit 30k all season even if we're going for 7 wins. Just use that example. In year 2 of the Kugler era with the first winning season since 05 and we couldn't get 30k. But in year 4 of the Dimel era during covid you think we will. I don't see it happening.

Offer the $2 beer promotion like the Chihuahuas do. You'll have borrachos from both sides of the border come out in droves.

Of course there's no guarantee they'll all return home safely.

I don’t think a cash giveaway will help. Fans have already turned off UTEP as their style of play is boring and Senter has continuously raised ticket prices despite little improvement.

You have to be a little dumb thinking you’re going to win cash at the game. 1/15,000ish chance you could win - not great odds. Unless they are drawing the winners live, the seats are probably already determined and will be 75% STHs.

Cheap seats, cheap concessions, winning, and better offense will get better crowds.

Admit it — their best promo yet.

Help me understand one thing from this promotion. One person will win 1k every td or does every td give 1k to a different person. Idk I'm confused.

Right but 80 year old grandmas have no problem forking over 100s a month on scratch offs where the chances are 1 in a million.

You do the math “100s a month” to win 6 figure payouts and up or $20 to win 500 or 1000. Plus have to be outdoors if weather is bad, might have to stay the whole game, etc. Both are bad prospects.

My grandma has been doing it for about two decades and has never won more than 100. I calculate she has thrown away over 25k.

I remember a Diablos game where the promotion was free scratch-off lottery tickets. It was a bunch, too; they were giving away sheets of them.

I don't know how they made money on that game. But it was packed.

Sometimes it’s okay to take a loss or not make a lot of money to make fans happy or give them something different. Senter and UTEP are unaware of such a concept. Money first.

Probably a Texas Lottery promotion — doubt Diablos paid for them.

This is such a good promotion. For $12 you have a 1 in 15k chance to win 1k or maybe 5k if they score 5tds its not entirely clear how it works. You get to enjoy beautiful weather while supporting a winning team. Idk how anyone can shit on this.

You know no wins.

They will have a winner for every score. No way they pick a touchdown seat and if the Miners score 7 tds that person gets 7k. 7 different people will win 1k.

I’m not shitting on it though. Announcing something on Tuesday, especially for a way less than 1% chance of winning, isn’t going to bring in droves of people.

This is at least trying - but only after “spirit night” and whatever else they “came up with” were huge failures.

I'm sure UTEP and Speaking Rock thought of this in the off season but waited to the last minute to announce it. After all they want this promotion to fail.

So instead of announcing this as the game is ending while fans are there, or Sunday, or Monday, they thought the best time was 5:46pm MT Tuesday? That must be the best time to release a promotion for your game on Saturday.

Yeah, I lean towards they just came up with it.

Or maybe the money wasn't secured and the minute they did they announced the promotion.

Its still early, but tickets sold look worse than last week, via Ticketmaster. Giving away money won’t move the needle. Maybe they need to do 5 dollar tickets… or lucky #7 and do $7 tickets… would something like that even work?
