I have a question:

Why does the ticket center not sell athletics tickets on game days? I mostly buy tickets online and use the mobile option.
A couple instances this season, I preferred to purchase tickets in person. The office was open, about 7-8 employees were at the windows, with no customers.
I assume they're selling concert tickets.

Instead Miner fans are sent outside into the elements, to wait in line at the small window attached to the Don Haskins Center. Just seems odd. Why did this change? Are they trying to push more to mobile? Why are there almost a dozen workers inside with nothing to do??

You’re telling me that they wouldn’t sell you tickets to the basketball game at the ticket center yesterday because it was hours or minutes before the game and then sent you to those little windows near the entrance?

That is outrageous. Good thing I didn’t bring it up or else people would think I am complaining. Senter doesn’t care about fans or attendance if what you’re saying is true.

In the elements? lol You make it seem like it was below freezing and snowing.

You must be a new fan because the ticket center on Mesa hasn't been selling UTEP athletics events for years. The reason is UTEP is selling tickets on their own (less fees to the customer).

Speaking of tickets and attendance. What is wrong with El Paso?? Golding has a good team and Haskins Center is empty . I hope attendance picks up when Utep is back in the Mountain West?? The Sun Bowl Tournament has some good quality Mid Majors, if Utep makes the championship game there should at least be 8k. Where are those volleyball ball fans that were packing the memorial gym??

It’s the UTEP way. 🤡

Years and years of mediocre teams and ticket policies that don’t make sense in the real world, keep fans away.

This isn’t a good team. More smoke and mirrors at this point. Tarleton State is a bad team and the Miners barely beat them.

UTEP plays 0-10 Jackson St, they are not good or quality or a mid-major.

That makes sense, thanks. Seems like a huge waste of a building on game day then.

Looks like Utep broke enrollment record with 25k. And let's say faculty they are about 5k I'm just guessing. That is 30k.

The Haskins Center is 11k to fill up. But to not look empty I would say it needs 9k fans. So I would say Utep should be responsible with 5k and the rest should between El Paso and Fort Bliss. So Senter needs to sell about 6 thousand tickets per game. That shouldn't be that hard for a city like El Paso. People wait in line at Albertsons. Then for the students and faculty why can't Utep give students some kind of prize or extra credit to go to the games??

Does anyone know what percentage of UTEP students live on campus. My guess is that it's probably less than 10%. Mostly athletes.

Doesn’t UTEP lead CUSA in attendance most years? Look at FIU and SJSU for schools that are worse than UTEP at “attendance ball”.

Utep needs to start comparing themselves to the Mountain West not CUSA. A empty arena doesn't look good on Utep. In the next conference cuts or additions, Utep needs to make itself look valuable. The Sun Bowl sell out early this season against Southern Utah, made Utep look good. It was brought up when people were talking about Utep moving to the Mountain West.

Ok Fili. Which people were talking about it? Definitely not anyone making the decision. As you can see now, UTEP was only added to the MWC because they needed teams. Made no difference that 41k went to SUU instead of 14k.

Look at the attendance around the MWC, it’s not great either. Did you see the crowd that Colorado St had for the UTEP game? San Diego St had 18k for their home finale and Utah St had less than 13k for theirs. Those are two programs headed to the “bad ass” Pac 12 now!

Gotta win and win consistently for 3-4 years to start building back the fan base.

Another brilliant UTEP moment. On the Mesa entrance side, they only had ONE LINE to enter The Don with two ushers to scan tickets. However, one usher could only scan tickets that had barcodes (printed tickets). The other could only scan tickets that read off your phone (mobile tickets). Line as expected was long and slow to get in. Talk about a CLUSTERF**K. Only at UTEP. Only the UTEP way. 🤡

People on Twitter and other message boards were talking about it the 41k. How do you know what the people who are making the decisions are doing?? I didn't know you were there in the negotiations??

What time were you there? I never have to wait.

Like what? I know you like to complain about everything, but what policies are you referring to?
Let’s pretend that for whatever reason you did not purchase online or you don’t want to.

First step: Go to UTEP athletics website and then click tickets. Brings you here https://utepminers.com/sports/2020/2/11/tickets.aspx

A reasonable person could determine that you can purchase tickets at the Brumbelow building 8-5 M-F. There is no other language about game days or in person purchases specifically.

“Purchase Single game tickets” - takes you to their site to buy tickets. It’s hosted by Ticketmaster, so UTEP pays Ticketmaster for software/hosting. Nowhere on that page is there any language about saving on fees or that you can’t buy tickets on the actual Ticketmaster site or app.

I think someone mentioned it in the Seattle thread that they thought the game was sold out because Ticketmaster didn’t show any tickets for sale. That is the case for all the future home games. I don’t think they are the only person that has believed that to be the case. Of course there would not be any language on the main Ticketmaster site because they would want you to buy any re-sale tickets that may be on the site.

You go the DHC and need to buy tickets, why would you not go to the Ticket Center that is out in front that sells tickets? I can’t remember the last time I bought tickets in person, but it’s been a long time. Is there any signage about not selling UTEP tickets? How big is the sign and could a reasonable person determine that you needed to go elsewhere?

All of those are customer frustration issues that UTEP could address or clarify. Why would the “UTEP ticket center” not sell UTEP tickets? That is what Google is calling it, so if it’s going by something else, I am not aware.

You only pay a $2 fee per ticket. If you know anything about tickets, then you would know that is a lot less than Ticketmaster charges (when UTEP wasn't in charge of selling the tickets). The link to buy tickets is on the UTEP website. It's not hard to figure out.

I'm not sure what you're looking at. All the games are right here: https://am.ticketmaster.com/utep/buy?id=ODQz

There has been a sign for many years. It's on the door when you enter. You can't miss it.

It's been about 7 years since the change was made. I know you never go to any UTEP games, but everybody knows you go to the Brumbelow Building or at the window at the main entrance.

You didn’t address anything about buying in person tickets on game day. You do not know if I attend the games or not. Was a mistake replying to you. Eat a dick

Address what? It's common sense where to buy tickets. I am sorry you don't have any common sense.

I do know that you don't attend games because you clearly don't know where to buy tickets.

As for the immature comment: Stay classy!!

So that's less than 5 percent. Compare that to Texas Tech which houses 25% of their 32000 enrollment on ca.pus. that's a much bigger pool from which to draw attendance.

Exactly. A lot of people want UTEP students to go to the games, but many students are non-traditional. It's easy living on campus vs. working, commuting to school, and attending the games.
