Took care of business at home. We will take it.
Miners got off to a hot start making 6/7 from 3. I think those 6 3s were their first 6 made shots. FIU stood in the game as we have up a lot of layups. I felt we were lucky to only be down by 2 at the half despite us scoring pretty well the first half.Wasn’t able to watch tonight. Looked over the thread. Looked at the box score. Trying to piece it together. Can anyone give a recap? Train, Maniac, anyone else?
I think a key in the second half was an improvement on the defensive boards. We continue to give up a ton of second shots; some of that due to the defensive philosophy on the perimeter, and some of it a result of personnel. We did limit both Florida schools on their typical made three point baskets, but we also have up a bunch of layups and second chance points. Teams are able to bully us physically. I did think that Hollins and Agnew provided nice sparks off the bench. Teams have obviously scouted Saterfield, and are keeping him from catching the ball. Again, he will need to evolve his offensive game to be able to attack off of the dribble. Depending on the match up, I can see Agnew continuing to grab additional minutes.Miners got off to a hot start making 6/7 from 3. I think those 6 3s were their first 6 made shots. Second half we go down 7ish to start. Slowly started chipping away then at about the 12 minute mark we went on a big run. Crowd got loud and we never looked back
