I don’t understand why some people take message boards so seriously???? If someone posts “inside info.” take it for what it is worth and who cares if it wasn’t true. It keeps it fun and entertaining.
The reality is when your athletic director is jim senter, he doesn't exactly inspire trust. A bone-headed move like that is well within his wheelhouse. You don't even have to look that far back for similar mistakes: dimel and Terry both 'earned' extensions from him.
After all, interviewing and hiring new coaches is a lot of work

I have been following UTEP athletics since the late 1970s and Jimmy Senter is the worst AD in my lifetime. The fact that he is still employed should be evident to everyone here that UTEP and its admin could care less about UTEP athletics. THEY DONT GIVE A DAMN! Save yourself a lot of frustration and heartache and find another team to root for.
Sounds like Senter said Golding will be coaching another year. Hopefully that was just AD talk.
On MinerTalk it was said that MinerIllustrated asked Senter about CJG. Senter said he still has another year on his contract and he’s still our coach.
It could be that he’s not gonna let the world know before he lets Joe know. But knowing Senter, it could be exactly what he said.
At least he didn't say anything about signing an extension.

I'm taking Overhaul The Program as a change in leadership (Senter) and coach.
Remember whatever Jim says in public is only ad speak. If you recall several months ago, he didn’t comment publicly about leaving CUSA for the MWC. I can’t remember the last AD that trashed a current coach, especially one that hadn’t broke any rules.
Senter didn’t trash Dismel on his way out either. Never trust what these snakes say, especially when it comes to employment.

Sorry to say without actually seeing Golding signing his extension and Senter putting his signature on his side it’s as close to factual as it gets he signed an extension 2,years no raise those are the basics. What a mess Senter has made.
Some on here think I posted it as a Golding homer but that is as far from the truth as you can get. Jim Senter is as worthless as an AD that exist in all levels of college sports and Golding is as poor of a college basketball coach that this university has ever seen with the exception of Rabaduex (RIP) so I will do the only thing I can do is call my rep at the season ticket office and cancel my tickets donations and ask them to not bother me again.
I have never been so disgusted and felt this hopeless about our basketball program as I currently do. Jim Senter my ticket cancelation and donations are directly attributed to you and I’ll never give an ounce of energy or one dime to the program as long as your in this town.

No coach ever coaches during their final year on their contract anymore. So either Golding goes or gets an extension. He isn't coming back for a lameduck season.
