UTEP vs NMSU
Go to the game and start singing it. If people like it they'll pick up on it and join you.and bring back the Amen chant!
It was never taken away. People just stopped doing it circa 1990

I watched it on TV and recorded it on VHS...and today I can't find the damned tape. Grr...Such a great game!!That was such a fun game, I'll never forget it. Unfortunately no, it's been forever since the Don was rocking like that.
I get that but we could still be better.UTEP gets more fans to their games than 90% of G6 and mid majors. UTEP hasn’t had a “good” team in 10 years.
And the NIU coach beat Notre Dame and won a bowl game this year.Look at coaching salaries as well. When compared to their future MWC schools, only NIU and Hawaii pay their HC less than UTEP. Money rules everything and the cycle of mediocrity will continue if we want champagne but we can pay for malt liquor.
Even if we paid Walden 1 million that moves him from 105th to 90th in the country in terms of salary.
They didn’t even get 9k when they went to the NCAAs in 2010.One of the reasons we keep coaches to the end of their contracts through disappointing seasons is the lack of money. We can’t upgrade the DHC or Sun Bowl without money. We can’t hire more competitive or better coaches without money.
The Sun Bowl capacity dwarfs most of G5 schools and is third in the new MW behind AF and UNLV. 35k/9.5k sounding unrealistic because of the past decade of results doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be a goal for the programs going forward.
It’s just unrealistic; especially with the way the teams have performed over the last 10 years. 5k and 20k are the new bars here.
No doubt, tells me he was the one leaking the Nelson stuff during camp. Very interesting comments. While what you say here 100% true, you can't help but notice that DK appears to be SOUR over the situation.
While what you say here 100% true, you can't help but notice that DK appears to be SOUR over the situation.Honestly That win really don’t mean shit in the grand scheme of things and clearly didn’t move the needle here my brother from another. ❤️
UTEP finished the year 5-7 and Boise won 10 games and sadly got worked in the conference championship game. If UTEP had went to a bowl that win is a signature one for sure.
Boise has won 27 games and three conference championship game appearances since then meaning their staff has the right to call other G5 teams whatever they hell they want IMO.
We as UTEP fans have a right to be pissy when someone disses us but in this case he’s 100 percent correct and we gotta take a L on this one.
You Never hear coaches say what they really wanna say but DK let loose there and kept it 💯. DK was about unload on Nelson when he asked about the camp competition but regained coaches speak composure really quick.
Wonder if Walden will troll that tweet or any UTEP staffer.
I think he was referring to Chad Warner out of Cibolo.Whoa, guess I missed that one! Incoming freshman QB from San Antonio, who?
Just as with a coach, if that's the case, he played well enough to earn it. I'll gladly take one good season over none. And bolting for greener 💰 pastures the following year...
Honestly That win really don’t mean shit in the grand scheme of things and clearly didn’t move the needle here my brother from another. ❤️Good enough to beat them last time we played.
Porter is a huge get, I believe he didn't have a scholarship at UNT. He scored 3 touchdowns in their bowl game. He can be used in the passing game as well. Miners got some solid RBs yesterday! Not sure about either but looks like the 2 backs they just picked up could help. The other one was north Texas leading rusher and second team all ACC
Ok. A couple things come to mind. My hope is that he just didn't fit the mold at Boise State. Hard to figure out where the discrepancy lies when ESPN had him as the #1 recruit out of high school. He obviously has high athletic ability, but then so did Kai Locksley. Still, I have a difficult time believing this kid, 247's #13 recruit and Rivals #14 recruit nationally in 2023, can't be a difference maker at this level. Perhaps I'm setting myself up for disappointment. So be it. But I'm banking on this kid finding his mojo again as a Miner.
