WKU and MTSU are not going to pay exit fees to join the MAC and make the exact same money and still play on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Even though we hate it and they might too, CUSAs FCS moveups are probably better than some of the MAC bottom feeders. I would rather be in a conference with Missouri St and Delaware than Eastern Michigan and Ball St.

Had fun with this UTEP-Eggie handicap looking ahead at a solid CBB betting card last night.

Opponent Adjusted number: UTEP -7
Non adjusted number: UTEP -9.5
Rivalry adjusted with a sellout crowd: UTEP -5.5

Total between 135.5-137 in all scenarios should be a rock fight, Hooten will muck this one up and knows Golding well obviously.

Hoping they cancel my underhand softball tourney in Dallas area saturday so I can fully watch.

Miners should win, anything less is a major letdown.

I see what ya mean. W. Kentucky Football only perhaps? I just don’t know if they’d do that with a successful Volleyball team and decent basketball team that would have to look for homes.

That’s not entirely true. 9 teams means 4 games and 1 team is always off or playing in non conference. 10 teams gives you another game of inventory for media partners, during conference play.

It's been many years, but I think they did away with the Amen chant around the same time they let Strelzin go. I remember opposing schools/coaches complaining about Strelzin's tactics of getting the crowd involved. It's possible that the origin of the chant may have had something to do with it getting axed. It would be great for the younger fans to get a taste of what UTEP basketball was like back in the day. Hopefully, that starts this Saturday.

I remember last hearing it in 90-91.

"They" didn't do away with it. People just stopped doing it. Much like people say "bring back the Miner Maniacs"... they weren't done away with, they just got older and stopped going to the games
