Does ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ QB transfer affect ticket sales?

Which game film of his did you break up to give us this insightful post?
Serious interest in the game. I love college football; mid majors and power conference. Nothing more, nothing less.

College sports is still fun at this time. I have no problem with the NIL. SCOTUS made a fair ruling as far as I am concerned. Coaches have to learn to deal with it.

I hope that Nelson comes here and shows the promise the recruiting experts expected when he finished high school. And there certainly is precedence for that here at UTEP. Derrick Caracter was personally well liked by his coaches at Louisville, but lacked discipline and work ethic. He came here dedicated and ready to rebuild his reputation, and gave us a fantastic season, leading the Miners to a regular season conference crown and an at large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Unfortunately there are also examples of it not working out at UTEP. Fred Rouse was the second rated wide receiver in the country coming out of high school. He arrived at UTEP after legal trouble at Florida State. His legal trouble didn't follow him to El Paso, but he was nothing special on the field. He played in 10 games, but Jeff Moturi, Joe Wesf, and Lorne Sam were all more productive receivers that season. And Keith Frazier has recently been mentioned on the board as another example of a five star that didn't work out

Nelson's five stars and his overall ranking were based on what he did as a 17 year old. Mqny players who earn similar accolades go on to be studs in college. Some become complete busts. Others fall somewhere in between. These differences can happen for a variety of reasons. He is not guaranteed to be a star here, nor is he guaranteed to be the starter. I would love it if he turns out to be an amalgam between Tom Brady and Michael Vick, but no one will know what type of player he will be at UTEP until fall arrives. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This team had great talent and they went 4-8. Demps became a stud in the secondary at UTEP and NFL and Cousins became a solid backup O lineman for about 6 years in the NFL. Moturi was undrafted (Packers and Dallas) but cut down due to knee problems. Thomas was cut by the Chargers.

OT: Ominous Vibe

It’s a good example of working smarter not harder from those LAFD firefighters. No need to deploy hose and use way more water than actually needed to put out a small spot fire probably caused by a flying ember. They quickly and effectively extinguished that tiny fire. Job well done. That lady talking has as much common sense as a rock.

Miners add Charlotte RB transfer Hahsaun Wilson

They have alot of size coming in on the OL. They will be fkn BIG!
A lot of that size will be inexperienced, but they have targeted some transfer portal OL (lower division guys). The OL will again be a major question mark next season. Technically so will QB, but I think Nelson will be good at this level of FBS.

Important point. It's hard to know whether your game plan, play calling, QB, or RB is any good when your O line is awful. Contrariwise, a great O line can make a pedestrian RB look amazing. I think a lot of our play calling was due to the need to get it out of the QB's hands in less than a second.
So if that’s the case what have we done to get better at that position?

UTEP vs NMSU

Good one Maniac. IMO, since it has been so long since UTEP has done the chant, I'm guessing very few fans are left that remember what it is. I really think the band would need to initiate it. Apparently, in 2014, they reinstated it for home games:

It's been many years, but I think they did away with the Amen chant around the same time they let Strelzin go. I remember opposing schools/coaches complaining about Strelzin's tactics of getting the crowd involved. It's possible that the origin of the chant may have had something to do with it getting axed. It would be great for the younger fans to get a taste of what UTEP basketball was like back in the day. Hopefully, that starts this Saturday.
If I recall correctly Strelzin was replaced as the announcer for UTEP games in the early to mid 80s. 'Amen' continued after he left. I somehow forgot that they tried to bring it back in 2014. Too bad it didn't stick.

I agree, it's too bad that young fans have no idea what UTEP Basketball games were like back in the day.

Whats the purpose of an arena?? Civic Center host shows and events. How is it not an arena?? Civic Center was the first arena in El Paso. Wiki says it can seat 8k . How does it feel to be wrong again??

Fili let me help you out. The civic center is not considered an arena, because there aren’t permanent seats. The Abraham Chavez Center does and seats about 2,000 or so. The Civic Center has an Auditorium that can be opened up and portable seats are brought in and then take out after the event. What is the city doing with all that money? I might’ve missed what they said or didn’t see the vote. What I think should’ve happened is that they took the 180 million and completely revamped the Coliseum to seat 10,000 for sporting events and 13,000 for concerts. Either way El Paso leaders are crooks and it’s sad a city the size of El Paso doesn’t have a respectable arena off campus.
